I'm looking for unique/interesting/colorful saws.

Not necessarily ground breaking, original in name or style.

I know there's some ole farts on here who own more saws than I'm even aware of.

For example Wood Shark, Wild Thing, Eager beaver, Mighty Mite, something along those lines.

I love a lot of the Stihl numbered models but what I'm looking for is the opposite of that. Doesn't matter how much power, weight, size, performance, anti vibe, etc... Something a bit goofy even.

Look in Good Morning thread, there is a ugly as sin 372. Freshly done.

Spirit of 76 poulan fit the criteria.

Otherwise I like the big old reed saws Pioneer/Mall/Remington cast mufflers ECT..

Common enough to be found in great shape at reasonable prices.

Nothing "collectible" as that will throw the price way off.

Vintage is not necessary as it seems most are going old, but fine if it is.

Unique/goofy name is pretty important, if it just has numbers it's ruled out, which is why I mentioned the Stihl line.

Wild Thing is the best example of the type of saws I'm looking for. Model name not number, off beat color scheme, inexpensive, easy to find.

Poulan had another like a wild thing but was green and red called the "predator" the decals even had teeth on em lol

Cox Beaver

That one definitely stuck out. :)

Completely misunderstood the original post. Feel free to have my offering deleted.

Not at all. Any well intentioned input is appreciated, even if it's a bit above my pay grade. :)

I'm going to have to look that one up now.

And the Wood Shark

Definitely a contender, should have made the graphics more outlandish.

I have a Cobra saw early 60's and a Terrill late 50's. Will try and post some pictures. Need to dig them out of the far end of the basement.

The Chip-a-Saw. Nobody truly wants those things, so they tend to go for their price in scrap metal.

Companion saws. These are pretty rare but again nobody wants them: apparently they are some sort of Swedish clones of early 60's Partner's like the R12. The power of the name...

Danarm Whipper. No idea what they were smoking/drinking when they decided to name a saw "whipper". Had a JAP motorcycle engine though.

Jo-Bu. Those long Nordic nights surely made for some pretty interesting names. Among the many I recall the Senior (a big hulking 125cc brute, not exactly suited for senior citizens), the Starlet (so called because...), the Junior Super (an odd looking contraption) and the Viking (possibly the least ergonomic saw ever devised by man).

A few more I've remembered.

PPK Commando 99. I've never seen one outside of French collections. Apart from the slightly ridiculous name, the yellow body/chrome muffler/blue bar makes for a very interesting color combination.

Solo Rex. Like the Jo-Bu's this was actually a damn good saw back in its days, but the blue/red color scheme looks quite a bit odd these days.

Termit. Would you buy a chainsaw named "termite"? I bet it throws sawdust everywhere instead of nice chips! Acid yellow paintjob to boot. As an added bonus it's part of the large and mostly forgotten crop of Finnish chainsaws.
