Kids have way too much time on their hands today. Growing up I didn’t have time to be offended worrying about where my next meal was coming from. I was also secure in myself not to give a crap about people I didn’t like. Forty years ago that kid would have been institutionalized.

We will debate this matter for years to come and hundreds more innocent children will lie slain, massacred, in our public schools.

Armed police officers in every public school starting NOW is the only way I can see ending this terrorism. Start there. If not, we will be as prepared to stop future mass murders as were the Floridian killings and the savagery in Colorado and elsewhere.

I love your approach. Start next time the school door opens.
Someone told me a private school (? Somewhere USA), Maybe a college, has armed people with concealed carry permits on campus everyday.
Have no idea if there has been any incidents or not but I have a retired Principal friend who kept a pistol on his person everyday. My daughter attached there and it made me glad knowing he was able to shoot the bad guys. Here in redneck heaven most of my friends carry including my daughter who was trained beginning at 6 years old and continues to train. All of my children and grandchildren started shooting air guns under supervision. They were taught respect for law and order. None of them have been arrested for an infraction. They would defend themselves.
Children with no knowledge about guns and self-defense could not. All my children were taught martial arts and how to take a gun away from an armed attacker. That should be taught. A local police department is now teaching this. Kids are shown how to know when a gun is being reloaded and are taught to wrestle the shooter to the ground and disarm him. Another thing kids need to know. NEVER, let anyone force you into a car. It's better to be shot in a parking lot than to be taken from Point A to point B. I told mine if confronted with a gunman demanding them into a car to RUN and Yell. My kids were taught about
abductions and what to do from inside a car trunk. People live in a bubble. Training is needed. Some kid in Fla. told the news she ran OUT of the building at the sound of the fire alarm then heard shots and ran BACK in. You are already Out, why not run away. She was a child. Did not know. My kid would have been running away to safety. Parents, Police, and Schools, need to do active shooter drills. And Get guns in the right hands in the schools.
Like you said. Police Now work on everything else later.

My heart breaks for these families, the children who have lost their lives, and those who have been greatly affected. While I whole heartedly agree that armed personnel is needed it would have made no difference in this and other situations where the perpetrator was able to get into the school. At that point by the time a responder is able to determine the who, what, and where a lot of damage has been done.

These killers are animals, but they aren't stupid. Knowing there is an armed police officer guarding the children in every public school will discourage/eliminate this phenomenon, don't you think? Now, when these idiots think about gunning down their peers at school, what deterrence do they fear? Nothing. There's nothing they have to overcome, get by, clear, be afraid of, you know? I think they will decide not to risk it with a cop--armed, trained, there to stop killers, waiting for the smallest sign of danger.

The advantage that Air Marshals have is that the bad guys cannot discern who they are. If a jack wagon with a long gun walks into a crowded place such as a school and spots a uniformed cop 30 yards away sporting a handgun who do you think is gonna win that fight? The POS must be stopped from entering the school grounds.

That is true but a long gun is fairly easy to spot too. Bottom line is until our public gets back to God or at least teaches kids proper we need trained armed teachers. I bet the hero who stood in front of the bullets and died protecting those kids wanted a pistol. The only thing between a bag guy with a gun and kids, money or anything else needing protected is a good guy with a gun. Outlawing guns is not the answer 92 % of these mass shooting were in "you guessed it gun free zones" people here's your sign. If you outlaw guns, outlaws will make, yup guns. Laws don't protect **** they do prosecute afterward but then its too late.

WELL Boys, pun intended, I'm freakin out now, baby. Did you guys know this?

At 12:32 am Alaska time on January 23, 2018, a magnitude 7.9 earthquake shook Alaska residents out of their beds and set off fears of a tsunami all down the West Coast. Fortunately, the tsunami was only a few inches in height, but within an hour of the earthquake in Alaska, waves of a different sort were hitting far away in Florida.

More than 3,500 miles from the Kodiak Earthquake’s epicenter, water levels at the USGS groundwater well near Madison, Florida, spiked by about two inches, while levels at the USGS groundwater well near Fort Lauderdale, Florida, dropped by an inch and a half. Both recovered to their previous levels within an hour.

Hydrogeologic responses to earthquakes have been known for decades, and have occurred both close to, and thousands of miles from earthquake epicenters. Water wells have become turbid, dry or begun flowing, discharge of springs and ground water to streams has increased and new springs have formed, and well and surface-water quality have become degraded as a result of earthquakes.

This is not even the first time a major Alaska earthquake caused groundwater effects far from its original epicenter. Water-level fluctuations caused by the 1964 magnitude 8.5 Alaska earthquake were recorded in 716 wells in the United States; the earthquake also was registered on water-level recorders in many other countries.

Earthquakes in various places are indications that The End is approaching, that it could occur at any time. Tis a reminder that such permanent things even like the earth itself can crack and break and crumble in a split second without warning. Our world and everything in it can disappear just like that. We can die at any moment, even though we, or at least I, never care to think about that. Soon, very, very soon all of us will move on from this morning dew as surely as the sun rises.

True that, also with increasing seismic activity gets me wondering about Yellow Stone its on my bucket list.

That, my friend, sparks the End if it comes before we kill each other off first.

2 weeks after 17 children were murdered in cold blood, slain, shot to pieces with blood and guts splattered over everything, our sick, disgusting, spineless media reassures us that all is well. On golden t.v. screens they plaster the presence of heavily armed cops covering every square inch on the campus of Stoneman Douglas, with shiny new metal detectors in the background. Their massive coverage of this latest money making sensation proves they have no standards except one: make money.

Mr., Mrs. America, where were we/they the morning of the massacre? What about thousands of schools across the land w/o armed officers and detectors? Another sickening slaughter is one heart beat away. one heart beat away one heart beat away of a child

In light of yet another massacre I'm reminded of my overwhelmingly "well received" challenge of several months ago. The massive, positive responses encourage me to hoist this righteous request once again, to rally the troops, to inspire even more Americans to go out of their way to try to build a unifying spirit among us all. If each of us would simply try to reach out to others, to try to build more beneficial relationships (marked by less tension and acrimony) to treat others as we would like to be treated, whether or not our efforts are reciprocated, we could build a better America, a less violent country, a safer place for all of us.

What is the worst that could happen? How much could we lose? What might spread across our land if each of us just made a simple effort along these lines? Could our collective actions generate a cultural expectation of genuine concern for one another in such a way that a rejected, bullied kid contemplating exploding into a homicidal rage would seek help, instead?

"I PROMISE YOU I ALREADY KNOW WHAT MANY WILL SAY IN response to this idea, but i'm going to propose it anyway. Life is short and I've accomplished next to nothing. If I could create a spark, just a spark, to help to initiate a new day of dedication, "my heart will lie peaceful and calm when I'm laid to my rest." The Impossible Dream

One specific day, set aside every year, where we say nothing negative about anyone. One 24 hour period of time where our focus is on helping others, being kind, going out of our way to help someone else. Just imagine 330,000,000 people willing, and even some who are eager, to refrain from a negative comment about anyone, And reaching out in some way to assist another."

Even as you grumps and naysayers reject this idea instantaneously, think about the GOLDEN RULE :)

I know, I know, BUT, if everyone did just a little bit every day, think how much impact we could have? If anyone reading these comments has ever been a part of a winning athletic team or something similar, where the chemistry is cooking and there is a strong all for one and one for all spirit, you know how much team work means, the difference it makes, what it can do. America rarely unites in a brotherhood of unity, but if we only would! We could save lives

I would give about 73,000,000 bucks to make this little guy mine. You could wrestle all day and all night and have a ball. Never have to worry about hurting him or wearing him out. A full time buddy ready for fun with his bestest pal.
ele (2).jpg Tis a rather goofy but profound quirk human beings seem to have in common. I am a pro-female advocate in the sense that I don't like to see anyone discriminated against because the person is female. Wherever possible everyone should be treated equally under the law, you know? I am not advocating that a certain percentage of women must be allowed to play in the NFL. That's simply stupid. But, again, wherever possible, let us be equals in terms of our rights/protections.

What I think is ugly is how some women, at least as portrayed in the world of entertainment, take equal rights as license to be as disgusting, self-centered, animalistic, selfish, crude, vulgar, rude, vicious, deplorable, insulting, biased, chauvinistic, violent, sex-crazed, minimizing, cold-hearted, egotistical, objectifying as the most guilty, raunchiest men women have identified as the "pigs" they so abhor.

I hate to say it but, our schools are just as vulnerable right now several weeks after the last massacre. Nothing has changed. That means at any time the same vicious kind of bloody slaughter or worse may happen tomorrow and America will be broken hearted for another few minutes and nothing will be done. NOTHING. This is a deadly, ongoing, violent, inexcusable disgrace. NOTHING HAS CHANGED SINCE COLUMBINE. NOTHING

I should write this in letters 10,000 feet high.

Our children are in danger. No one is guarding our schools armed with weapons to stop killers.
