hello all
new to the saw game. grew up on a farm where stihl was the only name in saws so that is what i got. just got a used ms 211 and want to get started with it. comes with a 16 but i do not know the condition yet so i want others and a 14"

the cheaper the better for now

(i reacreated my account, this is not deja vu)

Welcome to AS Thomas.
If cheaper is better I'd suggest waiting until you know the condition of what your getting first. Also it would be a good idea to find out what size chain the saw is set up for, I'd guess 3/8 picco or .325. If you get a different one you will need to change the drive sprocket/rim which would cost more money. It should run fine with a 14", as stihl calls it, and should do well if it's 3/8 picco.
Do you have any other saws. What size wood will you be cutting and how much of it.

This is my first saw purchase. I have used a few before.
My dad has a 034 and won’t let me use it, he isscared of me hurting myself.
But i own a farm so i will clear trails and cutup fallen trees for firewood. But i wont be the only saw there. I also do a wood fundraiser with Boy Scouts, again i wont be the only on there.
Maybe cutting a couple times a month.

Sounds like a good saw for what your doing/skill level.
The first thing I would recommend is learning how to sharpen chains well, this will be the best upgrade you can do to most saws as a sharp chain helps in so many ways.
Let us know what size chain it comes with when you get it.

Definitely a 16 and 2 chains. Not sure about them yet.

It looks good.
That's 3/8 picco, I like it a lot on the smaller saws. Run it and see what you think with that length as it's not a true 16 anyway.
A sharp chain will be your biggest friend.
