Would be MS 290. Farm Boss badging was for 290 (was used on 041s, later on MS 291 and now on MS 271) The cc on handle label 57cc. IIRC they were 56 cc when discontinued and replaced with MS 291. Stihl sold buccu millions of them. Many parts interchangeable 290, 310 390.

I concur that it's an MS290. The only way to tell for sure (since almost all parts interchange in the 1127 series) is to get the data from the cylinder. If it's a MS290 it will say on it 029 46mm and as stated, that's 56cc, same as the 029 Super.

My manual says 56.5cc, which rounds up to 57.

I have a shiny farmboss but I have a 64cc piston and cylinder any you would never know by looking at the outside of it. The 290 is the farmboss. For some reason I think the 390 has a white handle but I could be wrong. There's a good chance that if it's a stihl cylinder then it's origional.

OK, I blew up the photo of the sticker!!!
You all will tell him to put a junko chinese ms390 block in it anyway!!!

That's y I say if it's a stihl cylinder it's probably origional...

I spent the money on the hyway p&c does it work better Idk. The saw cuts real nice for saw with a "farmboss" sticker.

I'm pretty sure you can get a used ms360 for the same price as a ms290 on eBay. For the average firewood cutter they are a decent saw. Mine does everything I tell it to do. If you never owned a pro saw then you wouldn't know there was a difference.
