Haven't seen build threads in a while. This is just a re-build thread, but maybe it will help someone. Or provide inspiration. I usually do Dolmars and Huskys, but I ran across a decent 034 recently and my girlfriend's brother is looking for a 20" bar saw for all around work on his property up near the Mackinaw bridge. I picked up an 036 at a dealer with a good top end so this will be a build from two saws that I will gift to him once finished. It's gonna take me nearly a month to finish this so buckle up. You 034/036 gurus please speak up, I'm no expert of the 1125 series.

Nice thread. Wiggle the crank on the builder case... check the pto side bearing fit. Some 1125s came with shielded bearings... they were eventually phased out but don’t change em because of that. Check the oil line and clutch springs.
Plastics and muffler may need attention depending on your model.
Easy saws to work on.

Thanks for the advice and parts offer. I think I have everything I need except neither saw had an inner bar plate and both came with a carb branded "Hong Kong ". I had an 036 a while back that had the same so it must be a thing. I would prefer a WB, which one came stock on these?

I ordered a 6202 and had told myself I was going to split the case and go through the bottom end but now I'm thinking maybe I should leave it alone if it's all tight and just tap in new seals. The 034 case is in better cosmetic condition but I like the side tensioner on the 036 so I'm a little torn there as well. Thoughts?

The 036 has bigger screws holding the starter cover, not sure of the other differences. 034 cover screws were prone to stripping out.
