Well, my new 241cm has 10 tanks through it now and i would say that it is run in.
Just wondering what you guys are doing to squeeze more power out of these little gems

Would a muffler mod and base gasket delete work on the MS241cm ?

I have always been skeptical of base gasket deletes. Even when a tighter squish is achieved, due to the fact that "Lowering" the cylinder changes the height of the ports, possibly changing the power curve of the saw.
Is this true? Or is it generally accepted that the benefit of the increase in compression and tighter squish of a "base gasket delete" far outweighs the changed timing of "lowering" the port timing.????
I would love some clarification on this, as i have always been confused about this topic.
As already mentioned, you'll just have to measure your squish. Count on the gasket being about .017".

The muffler mod made a noticeable difference in mine. I'm about to do a small timing advance as well.

Usually the timing pickup can be adjusted. If not you need to move the rotor on the crank. Advancing timing makes it more likely to overheat or detonate, both of which often kill pistons and cylinders.
Let us know how it goes
