it will sting like the fire of hell

it will not do any perment dammage

In Michigan you can use a fire arm to defend human life only. Not property ( pets and livestock are property).

I think that is pretty much the case everywhere. I can't say I agree with it but it is the law and I can see times it is the right thing and others that a bullet better serves humanity. I mean just for example, some teenager steals gas vrs a crack addict stealing a mans tools he uses for his livelihood. Or a farmer getting cattle rustled etc.

When you see someone stealing your property (outside your home) all you can do is be a good witness for the police. Pictures, video helps. You cannot threaten someone with a firearm unless there is imminent threat to life or sexual assault. Inside your home all bets are off, but you probably are still spending the night in jail if you shoot someone.

I have not come to grips with the current court sentiment that If I cause some perp bodily injury that I am the perp. Ain't right in my book. Some how they all seem to magically change in to perfect angels. I have an acquaintance that is in court right now due to some less than adequate individual ( cought red handed by police including DNA) that has become said angel. The aquaintance was not home at the time.

Interesting, a guy named, "gunny" wants to shoot someone? Imagine that [emoji16].
First things first NEVER put ANY hint of such an act on the internet EVER. Second NEVER tell ANYONE you EVER HAD such a thought. Third, if you seriously feel a thief deserves to be shot then shoot him BUT do it some other time without the possibility of witnesses. Lastly IMO a thief is a low life dirt merchant and may very well take your stupid rubber bullets and turn them into real bullets aimed back in your direction. With all due respect your question is bad at best and flat out cow crap stupid at worst.
Rubber bullets? Sheesh...

It depends a lot on what state you live in, a good many years ago , a fellow shot a man in his home, only wounding him. He ran out to the mailbox, where he was shot again, this time killing him. The shooter never spent a night in jail.
A few years before that a man shot another man 17 times with a 22 riffle and said self defense, he pulled 10 years in jail lol But this is Central VA and full of conservatives. Now northern VA would be a dog of a different color
back to OPs question, shoot to kill and drag him inside. The hog thing wont work unless you break the skull and pick up the teeth. I use to raise hogs lol

In NC one has to face a potentially fatal person in order to use lethal force. This goes for someone who is in your home whether they break in or are in when you arrive etc. If I wake up to someone trying to make forced entry I can't legally just shoot them. They would have to gain entry AND pose a threat to my life before I'd be legally justified in using lethal force.

In Arkansas if they come in your door they are legal to die. don't matter if they are armed or not. same with the car, if they try to hi jack your car and get in they are legal to dispose of. You can't shoot an unarmed person stealing something in your yard though. if they have a weapopn then you can give them a dirt nap.

unfortunately, you would charged with maintaining vicious animals which were not under your direct control among a litany of other things as well. Played that game. That is on the law enforcement side - then starts the whole civil suit litany.

When I was a kid my grandfather had a gas pump out by the barn the old crank type. He was missing gas so he waited with the 20ga with bird shot. That night he could hear the squeak of the pump so he lets one go in that direction and the next day my cousin is limping. Nothing was said but no more gas was taken.

I'm with you.. Silence is golden.

Days gone by - someone caught stealing or what ever on farm they had one choice get the h off the property via the lake backed up by 1-2 12 ga. that ment they swim walk or what ever- trick was there were areas of quicksand in the lake bed- if they made it good for them if not no longer our concern 1950's/60's. Now days anything you do puts your tail in a sling justified or otherwise pure cowpies in my book. There is a good reason why my folks always refered to lawyers as shysters. I can't print what they thought of the court system and the politicos before they passed on as it would just be wiped off the page.
