Pretty confident this is a walnut tree, but can anybody tell specifically what kind? In the far away picture it’s the tree on the left. A friend asked me to take it down and I plan on milling what I can into slabs. Not sure on nuts, they have all fallen awhile ago and only see broken shells around the tree from the mower. Just got asked about it a few days ago and never paid much attention to it before that.

That looks like an english walnut. Its wood is not the same as the black walnut. It's a little more plain white colored, with the occasional discolored areas.
Thanks for the info, walnut isn’t common in my area so I’ll take what I can get!

I totally undetstand. There isn't a wood yet, that I wasn't excited to see it milled up. Each tree, almost no matter the species has its own treasures inside. Walnut smells pretty nice too...so and extra bonus.

Well now I’m itching to get working on this thing! Can’t wait to open it up.
