@dustinwilt68

Your Stihl specs from that random sight are wrong or refer to v1.

Edit: Has to be version 1 of the 261 because it weighs 10.8 lbs not 11.6.

You also have to remember that those are horsepower specs and they don't include torque at all. A 261 is a high-strung 50cc saw that bogs quite easily under load. To me, the 346 has a much flatter torque curve

Yeppers ... I’m not a race saw builder by any means however I do understand that some models have quad vs dual transfer ports ... of course the quad will have an edge in racing - however the thread was best 50cc saw and now has morphed into a 346 xp “race-saw” circle jerk ! Please excuse me ... I must go sort my socks now !

The Stihl 261 is also a quad part motor
I'll be the oddball here saying I like the 241 better than the 261, but you saying your ported 241 is as fast as any ported 346... I just don't know what to say about that

I fully agree Kevin, I had a 241 sold it to a local wood Carver, she needed a light saw and had all Stihl carving bars, so I let it go, I much prefer it to the 543xp. It's a great saw, I just don't like the pricing on it so close to the 261, if i find another used I will keep it.

That 2149 is actually more impressive in person running 3/8 chain in hard oak, I dare say it is the most impressive 50cc saw I have ran to date, want to run my 5105 against it one day, that will be fun!

It is a sexy redhead. But I'm not sure it's jack-off worthy. But have at it, if you must
It’s not and in that state of tune might win some races but NFW is it gonna cut all-day ! After 20 mins of cutting I’m STIHL runnin my insane-0 ... you might just be holding a grenade-o haha ... cmon man that’s funny !

You shouldn't speak on things you don't know Fabz, that saw cut for quite awhile at the last GTG, never missed a lick, it was passed from one person to the next, we were all very impressed with it, especially cutting oak with full 3/8 chain, no pico BS.

You really are a complete moron. I've been giving you the benefit of the doubt this whole time, but now I'm convinced. I rev it up in the beginning and you can hear it 4 stroking. And then it returns directly to an idle after a long cut and doesn't hunt or lope at all. There is nothing lean at all about that tune

Never said it was lean but it was heat sinking towards the end of the cut ... show 10 cuts in a row not just a “glamor-shot” ... video or it never happened jackwagon ... oh and insulting people’s intelligence and cussing f bombs really doesn’t make you look to bright yourself

If I had posted videos of a 261 or a 241, you would have been raving about how great they sounded. You're a fanboy, plain and simple. There is no reasoning with you. That saw has 10 to 15 tanks of fuel put on it in the last 2 months since it was built.

And didn’t ya know ... after they got hot they lost - power ! Maybe 10-20 % ...believe it or not ... a chainsaw is .... air-cooled also .... I tell ya son , when I rode my first liquid-cooled bike I thought I’d died and went to heaven !

I don't have the saw here anymore, as it's with its owner. But if I were to make 50 successive cuts in 20 inch wood, you'd accuse me of richening the saw up to where it would run all day without "heat sinking".:dumb:
