Lotta work man that husky wa laboring lol!!!

Yeah when the most sough after builders in the states charge around 300.00 to port a saw there is no argument, the godfather of porting saws only charges 300.00 and he does whole package, cylinder, muffler and any carb mods. Anyone paying more is just throwing away good money, I have yet to see any of hotsaws wow me enough to pay more.
Who is this Godfather u speak of?

Just what they refer to him by, I know there are other guys who are very good as well. He has been doing it a long time is what I gathered from it. 30+ years I believe

It’s the USA ! You are free to charge whatever you want right ?

Absolutely. Glad to see you post something that makes sense.

Actually, I think the "I charge 3X the rate of the competition" method is a decent business model. It can even be effective when you just let the consumer assume that your product is better, without even making the claim directly. I'd love to charge more for what I do and work less.

Yes it's the USA but it's also an international "online Community".
In a place like this people share an interest and... look out for each others interest.
You better be ready to deal with this sort of backlash if those interests are going to be challenged.
Your little hotrod saw definitely is questionably valued there fellah... you should not be surprised by the comments in this thread.
Anyway, good luck squeezing that lemonade.

And do you have the knowledge to know where that line is ?
Not having the right knowledge or knowing the right people resulted in an MS241 owing you $1K that you don't even want to keep! He may butter you up & call you a franchisee (lol-wtf!), but this guy & his spaztisized saws ain't done YOU any favours. If he's your mate, your enemies must be vicious. Poor Fabzio, you got DONE!

I am keepin the saw ! It paid for itself many times over mate ! This is the USA brother , the land of opportunity - if a guy wants to pay more to get more then that’s HIS choice to do so right ? What is the value of a saw that’s a little light saber that puts a smile on your face every time you use it ? The increase in productivity pays for the port-work rather quickly my friend; and then it’s $ in “poor Fabzio’s” pocket! I’m lookin at saw prices in Australia where you reside - the only ones getting done are you aussies ! Go have another Fosters and put a shrimp on the Barbie - I think ya got a few Roos loose in the top paddock !

Then do it !

Really ? Questionably valued ? I don’t think so guy ... look at the price of used saws ... more than 2x price of new and from the 80’s ... 064 for 1100 ? They were 585 new ! 1000 is a small price to pay for a one-off “Picasso” !!!

So you are comparing a vintage 85cc saw that has been no longer in production to a currently still available 42cc saw, atleast in value wise anyways?

Ok you wheel and deal more saws than me ... what’s your fair price on that ripper 241c ?

If it were my saw I would value it at 650-700, I feel that i would have a hard time getting that from a 42cc saw, so I would probably just keep it honestly, hard to get your money back from a ported 40cc saw, just my opinion, like I have said before I really like the 241s

064s are not made anymore and they are really sought after, that's what keeps there prices up, I have seen clean ones go for 1500.00 stock, they are in the legendary class of saws to me, are they worth that high price? I guess so if guys keep paying it, bit most of those saws are collector saws.
