Piltz dual felling dogs

Seems like these make good sense, but I rarely use the single inside OEM dog. Will the advantages of the dual dogs become apparent and useful once I actually fit my ms461 with these twin dogs?

Whether you need big or little or single or dual or zero dogs depends on what you are cutting, where you are cutting it, how the rest of your saw is set up, and your preferences.

Go ahead and buy a set (but not from that fool) and try them if you are curious. Easy enough to swap back if you don’t like them.

If you’re not already making some use of the single stock dawg, the huge doubles will add no benefit.
Unless you’re running a big saw in big wood .... big dawgs are simply for looks.

I did watch that this morning. Amazing a stock 250 with only a bar&chain&sprocket upgrade. Similar in cutting prowess a my ms290 and its 3/8 skiptooth equipped chain. Don't knock those smaller saws equipped properly and with a sharpened chain.

I have a set of those (not piltz....the $10.00 version...same thing) on my 066. I've discovered they have converted my 28" bar into a 26"bar!!! (Oh and they look really cool too!!!)

Those are a bit overly aggressive. I like my 372 factory west coast dogs. The only time they really shine is when I’m cutting big old spruce with thick dead bark. That’s when the tiny stock dogs just slip off with the bark.

Agree with pioneer on those over sized spikes. A lot of cases with broken out inner spike bolts. Hard to understand use, unless felling. Keep a sharp chain while bucking and let saw do the work.
