Hey guys, long tome, just bought myself a Makita EA4300, sooo time to upgrade the CC's on my Makita 6401. What's the best option, I see a few eBay aftermarket kits or can a OEM setup be sourced ? Thanks

Sorted found a genuine top end for only 50 more than a aftermarket kit

Its still reading 13.9v, your good to go LOL
:)
your very fortunate that
A you were not next to it when that happened
B you were not next to it when that happened
C you were not next to it when that happened

get out the bicarb and get scrubbing

I guess its now much easier to top back up now that its not maintenance free :)
And you can detect sulphation on the plates much easier :)

seriously tho mate, glad your ok, and there was not a secondary fire that took out your shed.

not quite as exciting as your strike, but a few weeks ago, I had gotten up early to refill our solar hot water system, as the panel connectors were damaged in a hail storm in early dec, we only had thumb and golf ball sized hail, but come Christmas eve, I discovered a leak, and have been topping up the system each morning before the sun comes up since.

This particular morning, I had been listening to several thunder heads pass nearby, and by the time I had gotten outside, another one was approaching nearby.
I had my back to the house, just a few steps outside about to head up on the roof when my arm hair all stood on end, I heard an electrical arc zapping, then there was a large lightning bolt directly overhead from behind the house to the range a kilometer to the east and beyond where I could see, at that very instant the lightning bolt appeared, the very loud crack of thunder hit.
Scared the daylights out of me, my eldest daughter was awake, and said she had forgotten how loud thunder can be, tho that was a particularly close and loud one.
No damage we could see to our computers and phone, but our modem had died, so we were offline for some time before another could be sourced, and even that one was faulty (people always sell something for a reason), and then our phone line stopped working. We dont have mobile reception out here in the valley, so that was also annoying going thru the hot days with no emergency contact or cfs website to keep an eye on.
My ears were ringing for the rest of the day, and I swear I could hear water running somewhere for days afterwards :).

only 2208, dont worry, its slower burning powder, you would have been fine :crazy2::blob2::crazy2:

So were forecast for 45 C today, whats your expected max where you are today ?

Ive worked thru 47s before, and in enclosed space working up to 57, which was not fun at all.
Still its the wind that is my main concern, not the heat so much.
Its so dry outside tho, if something sparks off, its going to be a major bit of work to slow, contain and stop it.
