I'll ad a quick review here for the uninformed, its been over a year now but I believe this is the seller I bought a 361 from.

Refurbished, New, used, or whatever you'd like to call it, the 361 I bought was new from what I could tell. It did have gas in it at one point prior to me receiving it. I owned it for a year before sending it to be ported and the builder said it was completely OEM but he could tell had been apart before. So what ? I got an amazing brand new looking 361 that is completely factory and runs like it.

The saw, 3 ES bars and 9 chains was $680 shipped to the door, resold all the bars and chains for around 270 and picked up a 20" ES Light for it. After selling an older 361 I have a brand new 361 for a whopping cost of the ES Light! Couldnt be happier. I dont care what we call it its an amazing deal for those interested.

Like the OP said, if you're thinking of bidding time your purchase accordingly. I watched the ad for quite some time. Early cutting season early fall or late winter into late spring are the best times to buy as the demand for a saw is lower than other times.

The ads say they were ran for 5 minutes for break in purposes, yes mine had a lil fuel in them as well.

I have had my 260 for over a yr now, runs strong, even better with a muffler mod.
My 361 hasn't even had fuel yet, but I want to get it ported.

A tweetie bird told me that the engines are bought in bulk in Ohio, no serial numbers(no EPA?) and put together with all OEM parts, then labeled as refurb.

I bought a361 also from there. Sent it to be ported. 100 percent as described according to my porter who had it apart.

That was my experience also as far as the imprinted data, I was uncomfortable with that part but that wasn't realized until I had it in my hands. The seller has such good quality feed back I simply let it go.

Interesting, thanks for the info I figured someone had connections somewhere to be assembling these and selling them that inexpensively. I also wasn't asking any questions lol

Great to hear your experience was positive also.

Just out of curiosity, who did your port work ?
