2E411DAF-2FB4-4540-A494-89ED86EEDD33.jpeg Can you tell by the model# & serial #?Model # 600076B,serial# 12-10207.Well that was kinda dumb,I thought about it after I made the post & I had to edit it.If the top portion is from a donor saw,it'd have the info from that air box,so the main portion of the saw wouldn't match the air box's info. The saw is supposed to have a fuel leak on the tank somewhere,I haven't fueled it yet to find out where the leak is.

On Acers site it shows both the SP125 and the SP125C with a Model number of 600076. It doesn't show a B model. Mark or Ron one can give further information. Further looking at the site it shows the SP125C with a cast iron sleeve which I know is not right. I bet he has the information for the SP125 in the SP125C area because they look identical. The best way to tell is the magnet test on the cylinder,

DSC02531.JPG Pencil magnet works best,I found one with a swivel & telescoping end that extends to 25 inches for around 4 bucks.Make sure its absolutely clean first though.

They're very handy to grab tiny hardware that always seems to fall off the bench & roll underneath the front of it

Good stuff on the canister mufflers and PM8200 cylinder/case, guys. Thanks for the clarification and memory jog. I do recall the short block differences now after seeing the pics.

And Ed, wipe the snot off your lens and take some better pics of that big new saw for us!

I've got a problem with my 3816 (I know, back to the little guys again),I had to pull the saw apart,in half actually,to replace the oil line. Now that the saw is back together I had to replace the fuel lines that crumbled when I split the saw.I got the fuel supply line to the carb in,but it was a VERY tight fit,& I can't get a wire to go through the other hole for the excess fuel return line.I don't know what happened to the hole, but it's virtually non-existent.I thought about drilling a new hole, but I don't know if that'd be a good idea.

NorthEast Tennessee Saturday MAC Report

I don't know how I missed the bottom half of page 1546 of the thread, but I am sure glad I saw it today. Some good stuff. Joey has been on AS longer than me and it was pictures of his large frame Super Pro that pushed me over the edge to acquire my first SP125C. He sold his saw long ago after being overcome with 82cc MAC fever. Or was it a baby on the way. Don't remember, but he also inspired me to pick up a SP40 (a version of the PM510 - the first of only three new chainsaws I have ever purchased). Lastly, while in a state of delirium, he sold me a PM805 that he had rebuilt.

As for today's activities, not much as Brian is still down.

I took one of my SP125Cs to cut the sole remaining Ash tree, but decided that the risk to save trees was too great. May go back with the deuce and some rope and/or climb and whack off one of the stems first.

Since I was there locked and loaded, I made a few bucks with the SP125C. Not exactly a workout for it, but nice to hear it run a little. Also not exactly a good picture of the MAC.

Good to know that you are playing it safe on those good trees Ron.No sense in taking a chance & have something happen to either yourself or good trees that don't need to be taken down.
Now for my SP125 report,I took the muffler off just a bt ago.I found a magnet in the garage that I thought would do the job,but it was just a tad too big.The muffler was loose anyway & because of that I believe it led to the demise of the gasket under it.It just crumbled into pieces,so I get to call Bob again on Mon.to order yet another part for the old girl. The sad thing is I didn't even get a chance to find out if it's got a cast sleeve or if it's chrome plated.I think I'll just leave it alone & continue to guess what it is.Lol

I'm going through something similar. Have a 125 with the airfilter cover say super pro 125. Found the cylinder to be flakey chrome with the tank serial number to have the letter D at the end.

So is this tank a true 125C?

Also, I believe I have read before but the chrome cylinder is aluminum underneath the chrome. The only way to save the cylinder is to have it re-chromed. Is this also correct?

Mac 10-10 SDC carburetor rebuild. The IPL shows two diagrams a check valve and a fuel pump. I've never rebuilt one that called for two. When I rebuilt it I placed both in because the IPL called for it but I'm having some problems getting it started so I'm second guessing my work. My question is do both go in?

It did not have two in it. The ipl from mac even shows two. It popped one time and then just spit gas all over my shoes because I had the cover off. Seemed to be flooded. I'll get some more info tomorrow.

Can’t answer the serial number question. Comparing your complete number with Mark’s post may answer your question.

As to the flaking chrome, yes, the cylinder must be replated. But it doesn’t have to be with chrome.

I believe Brian had his replated with Nik-a-sil or some variant.
