How many of these claims are with the use of an accurate tachometer and witnesses? Not calling anyone liars, it's just that considering the level of achievement like this I'd expect to see a video or something.

I once had a 12 gauge shot gun shoot a slug at 5000 fps but no video or witness......that gun was sweet.

I like when some of these interesting old threads get resurrected.

Hey @Frank Rizzo, here’s some good examples of saws that would be ‘held back’ running relatively high compression.
That’s what I’ve been talkin about anyway.

Maybe this is what you’re shooting for?
You’ve got a long way to go...
Frank's gone

I don't want to go too far off topic, but Freddie Spencer ran an oval-piston V-4 Honda four stroke motorcycle in 1981 that redlined at 22000 rpm!.
The early EMC spit single GP bikes revved to god knows what as they had no rev counter & a 8 or 10speed g/box the riders were told to rev em till they whistled & the swap cogs IIRC the power band was something in the 500/750 rev band in the high 20,000 range & you could hear em coming from a great distance ear splitting scream no stinger

My sons stock suzuki 400 bandit would redline at 17,000 rpm. She’s a gsxr400 in bandit street clothes. The vee twins don’t stand a chance off red lights.

When I was speed cutting at the local fair I had the 2100 maxed out. We had to bore two holes in the timber. The saw chain rakers set deep. It actually pulled the saw into the timber by itself and stuck the twin spikes into the timber. I fought to pull it out for the next cuts. I learned to remove the spikes.

When I was in the Army learning how to fly UAV's alot of my instructors competed in various flying events one of wich was pylon racing. These little 40 cc demons swung 8 to 10 inch props at over 45000 rpms! They only had two throttle settings, off and WFO and when they fired you could really tell they burning either 95 or 100% nitromethane.:jawdrop:
They can go higher RPM then that. I've seen factory engines so in the mid 50k range and then you can port them

I wonder what’s the out put performance between being piston ported and having reeds.

If we raise the exhaust port and lower or raise the intake port plus cut a 1/16” or 1/8” from the bottom of the piston it changes the timing. Advance the timing a tad.

Lakeside53... king of the ms361 muffler mod. Those were good days on the forum.

Yes guys could have fun on here and learn from guys like lakeside. Now just a bunch of new little girls on here waiting to like something or act like they are in the know because they been here for a year or 2 and have never even dropped a tree for a buck. Being a big mouth and sticking a nose in every post never impressed anyone. Really pointless anymore.

I saw that lakeside53 replied and had a flashback, "oh Andy's back?" Then saw the original post date
