Yeah, looks longer than 32". You want to be careful not to overload the saw with too much B&C....good way to smoke your motor in a hurry if/when you stall the bar in a cut......lots of torque going on there.

Those flocked filters and A/F covers were perpetually on eBay for yr & yrs....maybe they're all gone now.:(

Kevin
I'll definitely play around with it and see, if it's too much I'll drop it down, my buddy across the road has a Bridgeport mill, so if I have to make a 10mm mount I can with relative ease.

Yes. but that's only part of it....it has oversized screws (length) that were made for it too.

The thing about the copper mesh filter is that it's a poor filter....you'll fill you crankcase bearings with sawdust.....with that wonder screen. Like I said the flocked filters were on eBay forever....but expensive. I think it was mostly the same seller...I'd wait until he dropped the price $5 and then buy a few......we played that game for yrs.

Kevin

Is it the ones that are $55 right now lol

So I just measured it, it's 35" and if you subtract the spikes it's only 33" of cutting length lol

I'm going by what they ran on the 910 here, which has slightly more cc's/rpm....they ran a 36" 3/8 bar in the woods. I have no idea what chain....don't remember. I think you'd be fine on the 80 with 32" 3/8" bar and full-comp chisel. That may be close to what they ran in the woods on the 910.....chain-wise style.

I don’t know how true the Tsumara bar slots are, but try it first before milling. I had quite a few large mount Husky bars that fit right up on 10mm J’reds.

Niko tried to tell me that’s not possible, but I assured him it happened. You’re only talking about a small difference in mass produced bars.

Yeah I will test it first for sure, .5mm is probably within most manufacturers tolerances

Thx Kevin. I have that on mine. Just making sure that’s what you were referring to, I’ll check out the filter.
Does the flat bottom circle AF cover work or different one needed ?

I see yours has the same hole mine got when I ripped the pipe out trying to pull the spark arrestor screen

OK Tim...here tis. Back in the 80's a Jonny dealer copied the IPL for me on the 80 he had.....so that's the one copy. And the other is right out of the 80 SM with translated English. The one page is all they show for the oiler. You'll need Adobe to see the files. Let me know if ya need anything else.

Kevin
Copied the ipl and sent to @Drptrch

Err......even the SM just shows that sucky copper A/F and the flat bottom cover. My old 80 IPL does not show the flocked filter or the round cover.

You will need the round cover for the flocked filter....it's longer, the filter. And the round A/F cover will have a screw in it with a keeper. Make sure if you find the round cover it has the screw with keeper or you'll never find those by themselves.

I have a couple of flocked filters I've abandoned because some of the flocking has come off. I searched for info all over the Net on the process for flocking nylon mesh A/F's......found next to nothing. It can't be that hard, except it has to be gas/oil worthy....the adhesive stuff.

Kevin

Would one of you have an IPL for the 80
Or is this the one

That looks like the flocked filter and it's certainly the round A/F and part #. It would be impossible to illustrate a flocked filter, so I'm sure the one pictured is supposed to be flocked. Besides, the flat bottom A/F cover will not work with the flocked filter.

I think those are all the correct #'s for the flocked filter and the round A/F cover. Now you guys just have to find them....lol.

The round cover is recessed conical so the screw can reach in and catch. I don't think I've ever seen a round, nylon mesh A/F for J'reds that wasn't originally flocked.
