Members are saying they can access the site and read posts but cannot reply, I have no idea what is causing this but hoped someone that did have this has found a fix. A couple days ago someone claimed they needed to download an ,app, to get back into posting.
It is just those guys that are mean to me.....
Nothing to worry about.........

I have no issues posting from my phone. I rarely use a laptop or PC for forum stuff.

I do NOT use Tapatalk. Have had bad luck with it in the past and won't touch it.

For the record, I am running an Android.

Have to ask this out there. Has anyone found the fix for accessing this site from a phone when its not possible to post?. I am being bombarded by members that cannot post on the site, they can post on my profile page only. This problem only seems to be affecting those using a phone for posting , it does not affect PC`s as far as I have heard.
I had that trouble and clearing the history took care of the problem.

Had a hell of a time posting a few photos earlier, now all the videos i try to play just stop and wont restart. I have 100 meg internet at home, so i should be able to play a f-ing you tube vid. No problems at all on other sites. Seems like every other time i get on here this site is right on the edge of barely functional.

Sometimes it goes so slow that I accidentally triple post.
But that appears to come and go in short waves, and hasn't happened recently.

And occasionally the header at the top is out of line. The search and alerts cover each other up.

Minor inconveniences that come and go infrequently.

The people in charge of the AS nameservers are not adhering to certain protocols that are required for consistent domain to domain recognition and need to brush up on their recommended practices for running a web based service..., especially a forum platform involving all the automated email activity at the heart of such an operation. Or..., they're caught in a revolving door of futility switching nameservers every time there's an issue of any kind thinking it's someone else's problem, not theirs..., or both, or worse.

A recent search of globally cached DNS entries for AS still shows most ISP's across the planet don't see the AS domain either because the records have yet to propagate after a server reboot or the DNS information has changed and the new records have yet to propagate. Another DNS test shows complete failure of recognition for other entries critical in establishing proper domain name recognition. Your ISP may see AS while another doesn't. Same with routers that move the traffic from point A to point Z.

Whatever the case or other underlying problem(s), it's very sloppy server administration on multiple levels any way you want to look at it. Hopefully someone will step up and get it straightened out permanently instead of continuing to spin their wheels applying incorrect stop gap measures which eventually only make the situation worse until the system simply fails..., again.

On the other hand, you get what you pay for and some folks never learn.

No bone to pick, here. It is what it is.

Just a short follow up to the specific issue of phones having problems...

Could be coincidence that the complainants just happen to be phone users, but I'd guess the problem was across the board to some extent with any device with inaccurate or old DNS information in its cache. DNS entries have a TTL (time to live) value that requires a refresh from the server to be accurately updated by a host such as a phone or PC. The situation gets a bit more detailed when you involve mobile carriers, different ISP/carrier arrangements, and home wi-fi routers. They all require the same DNS info from a given server to connect to that server. You can reboot your PC all day long and it still won't connect to a server that doesn't provide a correct DNS response that is shared by everyone else along the route from it to you. On the other hand, host devices also cache DNS entries in order to speed up their ability to connect to other domains. If the DNS information changes for a domain but the info in a host devices cache for the same domain doesn't, it won't connect..., hence why your one phone may connect and another won't but a PC will but your laptop won't. Clear the DNS cache in all the browsers and they'll all connect if the domain has recently issued current and functioning DNS information.

Clear as mud?

I got a smart phone for Christmas. I then got the tapatalk or whatever that app is called. I tried to use it a few times and said F it. deleted the app. Might have been the phone as I was having trouble with it dropping calls and just going dead air a lot of times. what little time I had the app, I did decide I dont like tyoeing on a phone. got Another Smart phone yesterday to replace the obviously defective first one. I get on and read, but I havnt, and probably wont try to post using the phone. In fact, first thing I did with the new phone was to delete most of the already installed apps that came on it. Now if I can just figure out how to stop getting email alleerts on the blasted thing, I might be happy.

I am posting on forums many years with smartphones, never had any problem.Don't use apps, just use chrome or opera.
