Trading up my 1999 Husqvarna 261 to Stihl MS 261 C-M. It's a two pound lighter saw, modern, and new. I will miss the Husq' 261 though, it has always been good to me. It is however just a machine. CL at $180 with four loops.

That would be trading down to a smaller saw, but it'll be a new one.
Slightly more power, 2 lb lighter, new. It’s not the 262Xp. I am getting a ridiculous amount of CL inquiries though which makes me think I might be a few $ low.

Funny.

I just finished porting a Husky 261 and now I’m into a Stihl MS261.

You can immediately tell why the old 2 series Husky’s and “0” series Stihls were so reliable. They are dead simple beasts.

I find it hard to believe that a stock MS261 will beat a stock Husky 261.

If you’re into tinkering, add a new Meteor 262 slug to your saw and open the exhaust a bit. You’ll be a happy camper. The MS261 is light, but nearly the same size as your H261.

The reliability factor will always go to the 2 series husky, the finest line of dependable saws ever built bar none!
Copy that. When mama said, “I thought you were going to give that one to Evan (our son) some day” I realized it should not be sold. It will probably never die. And our son wants it. He wants my SRT Charger some day too but that’s another forum.
