Dealer in Sumner, WA called me Thursday and said they had three 462 saws. I said I’ll be in Saturday to take a look.

Today, they had to retrieve it from where they squirreled it away. Last one. Selling at rate of one a day.

Here is is my saw. Welcome to America sweetheart!

It’s beautiful. The one I purchased from Canada doesn’t have all the pretty stickers yours does. You’re gonna love that saw. Mine got noticeably stronger by the tank for a while, it is amazing.

How much was the wrap version? PHO?
That’s a good looking saw. I’m debating between the flush cut or the wrap. Saving my pennies in the meantime. I’m afraid if I call and ask for a price I’ll spend money I don’t have. I have a Tsumura light 28 waiting for it already.

All were configured and quoted with 20” bars. Dealers were doing deduct and add bars of choice.
$1199 half
$1279 wrap
I went with wrap because that’s what they had and will easily convert to half for $80. Half is quoted $300 to convert to full.

Sweet Jesus, that is nice, i also just picked up the 462 for my 45th B-day present to myself (after selling a bunch of stuff to pay for it), prices are similar in PA except they didn't have the wrap in stock so i got the regular, but i do like the extended chip deflector and large dogs. Here is pic of mine next to my old workhorse 044 10mm with the large deflector, love that look. Only thing i wish the new had is the model badge on the top.

Happy birthday! Nice picture. That will make quick comfortable work of your PA hardwoods. I’ve seen a lot of those Tsumura bars in videos but never operated one and don’t see any in the area or any of the stores. The few test cuts I’ve done the double oversized dogs are perfect for the wood here. The chip deflector and cover should clear noodles with ease but I dont have a round to work on at the moment.

I do a lot of noodling since if if get large rounds it easier to quarter them prior to splitting them, even with the splitter in vertical position. I wanted a Stihl light bar but they didn't have any in stock, only the Tsumura light in 20" so i just took it...only annoying thing is it got jammed with chips at the tip when i was bucking up the first tree if felled, not sure if it was the bar or i was cutting too fast and couldn't clear chips with the regular deflector. Probably better to throw a 25" bar on instead for breaking it in so i'm not cutting at such a fast rpm. I was on the fence about the 572 vsthe 462, there were plenty of pros and cons for both, i liked the air filtration on the Husky better, and the beefier bottom end, and the regular spark plug, and it was over $100 cheaper but i like the Stihl starting procedure without primer bulb better, the 2 part muffler, and i have more Stihl bars, and it lighter of course. I tried both but the 572xp demo they already had many hours on cut like a dog vs my 044 so i went with the Stihl. Plus i didn't think the 572xp was that much different than my 372xp or a 576 but the Stihl was much more different than my 044 or 046. In fact the 462 design reminds me of some of my older Huskys like the 288 where the whole top cover is one piece and its easy to work on once removed, and it has the air injection now (called prefiltration i guess) and obviously the spring AV. And finally i ran my buddys 261 version 2 and I liked it more than i thought i would. Time will tell.

That’s perfect, a great deal of valuable research. I may eventually get the MS 261 C-M for my third saw I like it’s sound and it’s specs. I opted not to get a 362 because it always sounded like it was bogged to me in videos. The 462 penalty was about a pound and $300. You know the direction I went. I studied the YouTube and specifications for the whole Stihl and Husqvarna pro product lines. I would cut with any of them. Stihl is well represented in Washington with parts and dealers everywhere. Only about 1 in 10 even knew there was a 462 on the planet.

I dont know about your 462 but mine runs like a beast, oils very generous too (wish the original 460s would oil like this). I didn't do a muffler mod but this thing is very loud! I would buy the larger clutch cover for mine but its like $100, sucks.

I don’t regret the purchase one bit. I did rethink my PPE and now wear a full OSHA required chainsaw gear. Just bucked 5 cord of maple logs in about five hours, and measured cutting!

I was incredibly annoying to my dealer, pestering all the time until they could order them. Congrats!

You can slow cut with it for delicate stuff and you can put the wood to it and just bury it and the rpm’s are easy to keep on the torque band. I feel the M-tronic sometimes trying to out guess me when I abruptly change type of log or cut such as jumping from buried in 30” to a 10”.

Finally had a chance to get down and pick one up. Been waiting in anticipation since it was released across the pond.

Traded the 461, the last of my standard carb saws, in and got a fair deal.

Bonus is an outerwear filter cover I had NIP fits the filter.

Sad part is I'm all caught up cutting till fall. I may have to remedy that.

Do you happen to have the part number for that pre filter?
