I do a lot of noodling since if if get large rounds it easier to quarter them prior to splitting them, even with the splitter in vertical position. I wanted a Stihl light bar but they didn't have any in stock, only the Tsumura light in 20" so i just took it...only annoying thing is it got jammed with chips at the tip when i was bucking up the first tree if felled, not sure if it was the bar or i was cutting too fast and couldn't clear chips with the regular deflector. Probably better to throw a 25" bar on instead for breaking it in so i'm not cutting at such a fast rpm. I was on the fence about the 572 vsthe 462, there were plenty of pros and cons for both, i liked the air filtration on the Husky better, and the beefier bottom end, and the regular spark plug, and it was over $100 cheaper but i like the Stihl starting procedure without primer bulb better, the 2 part muffler, and i have more Stihl bars, and it lighter of course. I tried both but the 572xp demo they already had many hours on cut like a dog vs my 044 so i went with the Stihl. Plus i didn't think the 572xp was that much different than my 372xp or a 576 but the Stihl was much more different than my 044 or 046. In fact the 462 design reminds me of some of my older Huskys like the 288 where the whole top cover is one piece and its easy to work on once removed, and it has the air injection now (called prefiltration i guess) and obviously the spring AV. And finally i ran my buddys 261 version 2 and I liked it more than i thought i would. Time will tell.
