I want to do a muffler mod on the Husqvarna 36 that I recently got going. Ive been reading some about this and I think the best way I have found on this one is to drill out the baffle holes as large as I can and cut two slots in the front of the muffler. Afterwords I will need to adjust the carb correct? Will the whole thing need adjusted and if so what is the adjustment procedure? This is the replacement Zama carb and still has the factory adjustments that it came with.

Yes you need to adjust the whole thing. There are several good videos that explain the process also several good threads on here that explain the process.

I've watched some videos. Adjust the high side from lean until it fourstrokes and adjust the the low side both ways until the idle picks up and go to the in between point?

You low is usually fine may need a littler more fuel in the bottom side, the high side Richen it up a 1/4 tune and test in wood to where after a few cuts (warm) it is “clean” in the cut and when you lift the saw out it has a nice burble or 4 stroke. Some saws depending on size are easier to hear on video FYI.

I also adjust the low to where it has the best throttle response.

Here is what I have so far. I drilled the holes on the top of the baffle out larger and cut the two slots on the bottom out into one hole. I cut two slits in the can and bent them out slightly to angle the exhaust downward. Gonna paint and install.

Ryan_289; that mod should wake up that little saw some, but be mindful of where and how long you’re in the wood.
Those front exhaust ports CAN ignite dry bark, you will most certainly start it smoking...so please be vigilant...

That happened to me once, factory muffler with no screen. Very dry white oak, caught the bark on fire.
