Hey all,

This is a last ditch effort to try and get in contact with a chainsaw builder that has "gone dark" on me for the better part of a year.

Story:

I contacted Terry Landrum of Wicked Work Saws July of last year. His initial communication was spot on, and I received information within a few days, and we came to an agreement of price to port two relatively new MS461 saws. I promptly paid ($625 to port 2 saws, and return shipping) and sent the saws on their merry way. Over the phone, Terry said that he had received the payment, and would begin work on the saws "within the next week".

Now here we are. 10 months later, I have emailed multiple times, as well as left voicemails, all with not a single response. Now I am out over $3,000 counting the initial price of the two saws. Has ANYONE had contact with Terry, frequents his shop, or knows recent whereabouts that can inquire as to the status of my saws
(or if he is even still in business)? I use them for work and to teach, so being down half of my equipment really hampers my operation. Any help would be enormously appreciated.

I was given his info from a wildland fire module based out of Northern California. They used saws of his and swore by them. Seemed like a ringing endorsement at the time. It wasn't until I had already mailed the saws that I became aware of his communication issues with past customers.

I paid with a credit card. I was afraid to dispute the charge for the porting, knowing that I would probably lose the saws in the process. But here we are anyways!

Check out his facebook account, says he has a new phone number. Or try through ebay, shows his account is still active. 931-863-7762
I've called just about every number that have ever been affiliated with him. And I've also sent him messages via eBay. Don't have a facebook, or I would have tried that too!

There's a thread about WWS on the other site and it doesn't make the builder look good at all. I truly don't understand how someone can be so shady. If you pay me to do work i'll do exactly as promised and this applies to all aspects of my life. I could never just flat out screw someone over or lie to them about when it will get done. Honesty, reliability, and communication is key to run any successful business.

As a small business owner, I understand how easy it is to get behind schedule and/or behind financially... but that doesn’t excuse the lack of communication from this business.

It’s just not that hard to pick up the phone and tell someone what’s going on with their job. I can excuse a guy for being behind schedule, but there is no excuse for holding someone’s property hostage and making them wonder and worry if they’re ever going to get it back.

Do you have the serial numbers from the saws?

I do not unfortunately. The only thing that I can identify them by is my name etched onto the body of the saw.

I've filed a case with Chase (the CC I paid with), I've pretty much accepted that I haven't heard anything by now, both of my saws have been sold or "lost".
