A Partner 1655 couldn’t pass up the saw or the cost. Gotta love these toaster saws can’t find any info on the 1655 model? Is it 55cc’s.?

This isn't really a reply to this post but I know someone selling a 235 husky e-series, any idea what it's worth ? It turns over but won't start.

How does it look? Condition? Without seeing it I’d say between $75/$175? Won’t start it could be opening a can of worms or something easy to fix like cleaning the carb. The worst a piston, hows the compression?

Prolly 125 to 150. Not sure about the 235 but my gut tells me its a poulan in husky clothes. If thats the case id say tops of 50 and it better be nice for that amount.

Back to the 1655.
Somewhere in the back of my mind is that a 1655 is a revision of an R16, and therefore 55cc.
Does is have AV?
Does it have the oil pump on the bottom under a rectangular cover retained by a single screw?

The saw hasn’t arrived yet I think the bar oil is under a screw. I have mostly 55cc partners with three p/p 400’s a p85 and one 95cc partner.

Are the three Pioneer/Partner 400s all about the same age? Changing the ignition & flywheel supplier from Electrolux to Phelon during the 400's lifetime didn't exactly enhance component interchangeability between early and late build saws.

Deep memory recesses recall that Partner USA wanted a product to sell through hardware & farm supply stores, without upsetting servicing dealers, so they invented new model numbers. Thus R16 would become 1655.

I'm not sure when the Partner & Pioneer/Partner brands were parked. It happened sometime after I left EMAB in 1988.

The "Bottle-capped Brick with Handles" was the nickname given to the 400 by one of my colleagues when he set eyes on the first sample. The Husky 40 version appeared soon after. A little heavy for it's power output but very little vibration.

I don't know if the ignition confusion on the 40/45 that I mentioned previously, also came to the Partners as well. The image below shows both the initial Electrolux and the Phelon ignition/flywheel combination that replaced it (in order to reduce production cost), each combination entirely incompatible with the other because the flywheel magnet poles are the opposite way around.

The 400 is a great saw. First Partner to have an inertia chainbrake. Large parts compatibility with the 500/5000/Husq50, and...high tolerance to crankcase leaks due to effectively oversised c/case volume.

Looks like Pioneer/Partner has sunk without trace, apart from some reported badge-engineering in Europe.
I think the P62 was the last uniquely Pioneer model, and even then it's porting was copied from Yamaha.
