What cuinrearview said.Don't baby it,don't add extra oil in the tank etc.Just use 40:1 and if you can, tune it a little rich for the first 4-5 tanks, what i did to my Echos.Just don't push it hard for long periods the first time.I mean don't start it for the first time and keep cutting for hours, work it a couple of minutes, then shut it off and let it cool.Next day run it a little more, let it cool again.Next day run it like you stole it.

I smell a oil thread war coming on. I'll keep my opinion to myself on this one. How much that run you? HD sells them used for about $340. First I bought from them was in really good shape.

Oil thread is different from a break in thread. Could get messy either way though.

I paid 630 + tax at home depo. Check out my thread on (small engine shop!!). I went the "buy a rental" route and it was a good learning experience.

Should I stay at 40:1 or switch to 50:1 after a few weeks. And I'm not cranking it up until I get some makita oil but I'm curious would any quality oil do? Or specifically makita for makita saw? And why... I'm not trying to be difficult I just really want to know everything I can and I trust you guys over a quick google search. And thanks for all the help kostas. And everyone else that shares knowledge

And thanks for all your help so far kostas

Buy a 2.5 gallon gas can. Get some of the makita synth bottles for 2.5 gallons. Should be able to find them on line. Buy a dozen. Put two gallons of rec gas in there and one full bottle. Instant 40:1. Never change and cut happily ever after...

Stay 40:1, I use Echo Red Armor. Then you can make these changes.
