The 1-52 drew firewood duty tonight. This is one of my favorite saws to run. Just like my grandfathers.

I was out cutting earlier today as well.My neighbor had several trees taken down by the state & I was welcome to the wood.I had mt 10-10,Super 10-10,& my newly acquired PM700 without a chain brake handle.Lol The 700 was used for only 1 cut & it impressed me.I had to noodle the base log because it was too big for me to load by myself. Two loads of ash & a load of pine for bon fires.Tomorrow I'll need to get at least one more load of pine at another location. When it's pushing 85 degrees,it gets quite uncomfortable.

I was at a local antique engine and tractor show this past weekend and was surprised to come across an MC91B Kart engine complete with carb and Gem muffler. It was a good price I think at $400, but unfortunately I still could not swing that currently.

My 10-10a and pm700 are 2 of my favorite saws to run as well. I feel the 10-10 was/is the best cordwood saw ever made.

I picked up another 610 a few days ago & got it in the mail today. It only had a 16 in.B&C on it so I put a 20 in.on it.The saw fired right up & ran great,so I went to put it in some wood to check it out & the chain slipped a lot.I figured the clutch was shot,so I took the clutch & drum off & put one on from another saw I bought a few months ago.The part that acts like an inner bar plate was all chewed up,so I had one laying around that was in excellent shape & put that on with the newer clutch & drum.I went to test it out again & the same thing happened, but this time it was smoking & slipping.I cleaned up the drum with brake cleaner to make sure there was no oil or grease in the drum or on the shoes.Maybe the 2nd drum & clutch wasn't good too?I can buy a new clutch on Ebay for about $30.The clutch surely won't go to waste, but I also don't like to spend money on something I don't have to.

So, im working midnight shift this week and checking out ebay and a new listing just showed up that made me scratch my head... a mcculloch 1-50 for $3000.00 that belonged to john wayne in the 60's that also has a chevy piston in it?? I truly hope its a joke cause it was funny to read. Funny thing is same guy sold the same pictured saw already for waaaay less. Looking at his sold items.

I know that guy,he's on my list,a well known hot saw builder from central CA. He did that as a joke in response to the outrageous prices asked by quite a few Ebay sellers lately. I thought it was hilarious myself.

Damn, a couple of years ago I gave away two decent runner 550's. If I only knew I could have retired on old Mac's? lol

In Fall 2016 I found a decent 550 runner about an hour to my west (not many big old saws here in the land of corn, soybeans, cattle & hogs) for $100 with 30" hardnose bar,at the same time I already had a pristine 550 with same bar on the way from Oregon for $300 shipped. Hated to back out of the local one since I was working 12 hr days & the guy held it 4 days for me until I could go pick it up on the weekend.

Its now considered a parts donor since quite a few parts fit several other models from same era.Dont think I did too bad looking back, considering what ridiculous prices are being asked now.

Hi guys,
Just bought a pro-mac 10-10, B&C are complete rust so i cant read all the infos on the bar. I wanna know what sprocket size I have to put a new B&C and if possible dont want to remove clutch drum.
Im betting .325 but not sure. Thanks !

Btw, she has not run for more than 15-20 years the seller told me. Carb cleaner in the 3 adjustments screws holes, flesh fuel and she run again. It amazes me everytime

Bar is oregon 1650 1714UQ
