Hi all. So this question pertains to a saw I picked up a couple weeks ago. It is a Ryobi, so no value, and do not want to put any money into it as I do have enough saws (did I say that?). Anyways, I do not want it taking up room so I have decided to part it out this coming weekend. Asides from the bar and chain, carburetor, what other parts would be beneficial to keep before tossing out the rest? While typing, I was thinking clutch, fuel and oil caps. Or do most here just keep the whole saw? I do not really have space to keep everything. Thanks.

On a saw that I have that is not worth fixing that I part out I would keep the coil, spark plug, fuel filter(if it is in good condition) clutch, carb, bar and chain, gas oil caps, air filter, maybe the pull start handle. If it uses good torx head screw that will work in other saw I would keep all of them. Pitch the rest even good pistons and cylinders. Cheaper saws are not worth my time to completely rebuild.

Trying to sell a not so popular saw might be hard to do unless they need a parts saw.
You know soon after you sell it another one will show up.
I purchased a husky 162se parts saw, a while ago. I split the case and ported the cylinder and in a box it sat. I just found another 162 that’s complete. Now I can build a runner.

Thanks all for the replies. Never honestly thought of selling it as a parts saw. You are right in the fact that someone else may need parts. Also, thanks for listing good things to keep. I may post it tomorrow as a parts saw till the weekend and if still here, disassemble it and have some fun!
You can still disassemble it for fun, or curiosity, and sell it as a "parts saw" in a box. No harm done.
