Well I guess the title says it all.My 025 seems a bit low on compression. Cold it is 125 psi.Can someone recommend a aftermarket kit to freshen up the old girl? I have read some good things about Meteor. Any suggestions? Thanks, Ken
Could be either I'm guessing depends on serial number year made.they made them in 42mm and 42.5mm check your in box.If I could find out the size of the cylinder I might use the rings bearings and seals. However I asked my local dealer the size of the piston and they are unsure. 42mm 0r 42.5mm. On the handle it states 44cc. I looked at the piston through the muffler and it looks near perfect. So I guess without tearing it apart it is a guessing game. This is why I asked about the cylinder kit. I would have all the bases covered this way.Ken
Caber has what you want: 42.5mm, 1.2mm width, style G15H
not sure of 42mm variant? Check piston with calipers. Caber has 42mm ring sets

stihl gasket kit will come with new crank seals.
$tihl is quite proud of their ring$ like their P/C set$
Might want to get some new rubbers, only cheap $#@!ers use/reuse used rubbers.
I am stihl using the saw.I had saw at dealer this morning. We looked for numbers on the cylinder that could give an indication to the piston size. No dice.
Can you check another saw? 150 sounds about right.Mad, I had the saw to the dealer this morning. He looked at the numbers but was unable to make a definitive decision. Here are the results of a compression test that I did just now.I have two gaugesView attachment 755775 View attachment 755776 . On is off compared to the other.
