Your call. You are really going out on a limb to offer a warranty on something knowing you may get a yahoo who doesn’t know saws or worse someone who abuses purposely.

I'm on board here though... Post numbers, I've already dealt with knuckleheads for 3 years, I know the pitfalls.. ok you are correct about the "life of the saw" idea... How about 1 year... No questions asked warranty.. anything happens, it gets fixed... What would that be worth, knowing the cost of the kit?? Just post numbers that's all I am saying.

Is it my imagination or have the kit prices gone up significantly? It seems like the 070 kit was $168 and now they are $304.

The 168 price was before shipping cost was added, they have changed their pricing to include shipping

Is it now one year warranty ?

I'm asking the public to put a price on customer service... My question to everyone watching is what is that worth?? My designation of one year is for everyone to have the same base line to insert their opinion on what a warranty is worth. The hard cost of the kits is the same for everyone... The difference in price is the "value" of your dollar. Is a 1 year, hands down, no joke, if it breaks I fix it, no questions asked warranty worth 10 dollars, or a hundred??

I have noticed that nobody has posted a number yet.

I see! Thanks for passing that along. I do have quite a bit of interest in building one. Looks like a fun project. Even at $304 it is reasonably cheap.

Honestly you need to set your price of what it’s worth it to you. The demand will tell you if folks think it’s a fair deal or not. You can then maintain or adjust accordingly.

You are missing the point here... I don't care I sell any.. I have been selling them for 3 years. I enjoy building them. It doesn't matter what "my" value is, or what it is "worth" to me. I want to know what is it worth to you?? ....... WHAT IS THE VALUE TO YOU (meaning everyone that is watching) Tell me what the value of the warranty is.

It seems like all the people that have "inundated" your inbox would chime in...

I agree... Yet nobody has. I'm not asking anyone to buy one. I'm asking you to tell me what you think having a warranty and customer service is worth. Not the saw. Good God this is like pulling teeth from a rhino, it is purely a question that involves your opinion.

Honestly then you should be discussing this in the chainsaw forum versus the trading post.

Oh my goodness... I didn't set out to "discuss" this at all, I said that in the original post. I opened a line to people who were interested in them, now I am discussing their value with people who are clearly not interested in them..... I don't care which forum it is in... Have it moved. I just wanted to connect with the few who are asking legitimate questions.

They are actually a fairly simple build, so don't let the size intimidate ya! A word of caution though, I don't recommend putting the 66mm piston on it. The engine is just too big for the clutch shoe. You can order a 090 shoe from another source though and then It would be better suited. Also they are a beeotch to get started and tuned, that is a big engine. Good luck with the build, any questions don't hesitate to contact me, I'll help you as much as possible.

I’m not at all trying to bust balls...trying to help you get what you are looking for.

As a guy who has been around here a long time, I’ll advise that “make offer” type of posts just don’t get a lot of traffic. People don’t want to offend with a potentially low offer nor risk overpaying with a high offer.

I appreciate the advice, and your comments have been very professional, so thank you for that. This has just become something that it didn't start out to be. As is typical, I suppose..... For everyone interested, my question stands.

Sir, As the one doing the work it is you who should price your saws according to what you deem quality of workmanship is. As an owner of a plumbing company for 38 years I do not leave it to my customers to tell me how to charge. If they do not like the service fee they can solicit elsewhere.
