i was looking for a new piston for my early husky 162SE chainsaw. They come closed port or open port. It made me think how does the transfer ports work with a closed port piston. The piston has a full skirt? No windows.?

The opening for the transfers is low enough on the closed port cylinder the sides of the piston don't block it at bottom dead center.
The open port is different with the opening for the transfers up higher so the sides of the piston need to have holes for flow.

i Ask here I knew you guys probably know. I was running a 266se around that time with my 2100. I was thinking on rebuilding the 162se would be better than running a smaller saw power wise.
