That can work, but it will eventually spin again.

The case half is junk. You can make it work, but it's kaput. Can usually find 026/260 case halves on eBay.
I've actually used JB weld on a wallowed bearing pocket on a 385xp (under owner's guidance). Permanently sealing bearing in place. It lasted for years of heavy use.

I see you found two of your stolen saws now. Did LEO catch up with the thief yet?

I've actually found 3/5. The 011av is gone. Sold on eBay to places unknown.
And, nope. I've been angrily surprised by how inept the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office has turned out to be. Luckily, I've got an amazing community of friends here on AS that have really stepped up and did so much. The detective actually seemed annoyed that I kept calling her with leads. Going through LE and eBay to get the last MS261c back. So... That'll take a while. But it's safe and I've been in contact with the with the honest gentleman who bought it.

I just don’t get why LEO won’t do more on cases that more or less are cut and dried.

A guy up here ran into several atv’s with his SUV. Dozens of witnesses yet nothing has been done. Owner of car claims it wasn’t him. But then how did he get his car back?

This is so disappointing. I felt sure they were going to follow through, with all the evidence they had. There are people who don't need laws to do the right thing and others who are going to take the easy, illegal path unless stopped by laws. It's no wonder crime is so prevalent. There's so little risk.

Back to the topic at hand . . . I'm going to try notching the outer race and the bearing pocket and using J B Weld and/or some kind of pins to keep the bearing in place (same principle as anchoring the mains on a VW Beetle).

Exactly! That would be my course of action. I ended up using JB weld only because the wallowed bearing was sealed. With the bearing and seal integrated as one peice... The Achilles heel of the 385xp; small sealed crank bearings.
