A couple of years ago I got a Husqvarna 450. Didn't use it until a little bit this year. We decided we were going to burn wood alot more so I bought some tree length. Well I ended getting a jonsered 2149 given to me which is essentially the the same saw. So I sold the 450 to my son in law. And he gave me 210 as a trade. So I have two saws.
My dilemma is I got 8 acres that are a mess from ice storms and a friend wants me to clean up at his 10 acre wood lot. So I got alot of wood cutting in my future. I don't think my 2 saws are enough. So I was thinking of getting a 545 or a 555. My friend friend swears by his xp. But he's a pro . And I'm not a huge fan of the silver. I just need some help. Looks like I'll be cutting 20 plus cord for next winter and I want a good saw. And I don't want to wear out my jonsered.

you wont go wrong with a husky 460 wearing a 20" bar along with a 3/8th full chisel chain for the dropping and bucking down to 12"! any hardwood smaller then that(12") can be blocked with either one of your other saws!! your husky dealer should get you into a good saw for around 500.00.

I was thinking that but I'm not sure. I would rather buy way more saw than I need. But that 460 is definitely in the running. I just like the thought of a pro saw cause I tend to be hard on equipment

Echo 590. Great saw for the money, has serious balls. $400 at a dealer, I’ve seen them NIB on eBay for $325 shipped. I have zero complaints on mine.

Funny you said that cause I was just talking about that with my buddy. He's got a cs 400 and a ms271. He likes his echo way better. He's kicking himself for not buying the 590.

if you get a new ms261cm or one of those new husky 550xp's you cant go wrong with either unless you need something bigger

The thing is I don't really know what would be ideal. Besides all of hardwood I got a huge pine that fell over across the edge of my pond and two big hemlocks that fell over. I have no idea what would be best. I think I can slip this by the boss but I can definitely not slip another one by

The 2149 is a good saw. You can put a 346 top end on it for $100 and have a saw that will cut right with a 545. Maybe a little behind the 550, but not a ton.

Since you already have 2 small saws, I'd suggest a 70cc to go with them. A husky 365 would be a great choice.

I would also think since you have two smaller saws that a 70cc may be a better addition to your stable. But to comment on what's been said already, my dad has a very heavily used Echo 590 and loves it. He's used it heavily for three years now cutting a lot of big stuff and absolutely loves it.
I've got a Stihl 261cm and am amazed by how well this saw cuts, how easy it is to start, and how it's always perfectly tuned. I've used my dad's echo a lot too but I love my 261 much more.

They had a 365 there me maybe I'll take a closer look. The dealer Swore by the 555 with 18 inch bar. I guess that is why I'm asking you guys. Awesome input

My dad swears by his 260 he's 75 and still can handle it pretty well. And I've run it quite a bit. Maybe I'll get 2 more

Cost of a 555 is to close to pass up a 562 with large mount, unless you like small mount. That 365xt can be turned into a 372 with little effort.

Definitely skip the 460, the Echo CS-590 is superior in every way possible.

That said a good 50cc and 70cc saw combination is where it's at, if you have the $$
Some people say I got more money than brains lol. I just want to get one more that will fill all my needs. But it may be 2 more

Funny, my dad is 73 and probably works harder than most 30 year olds doing heavy physical labor all day long. And he's retired! Two weeks ago he rented a man lift and took down three massive maples next to my sisters house. Spent like 8 days sawing them all up and hauling off the wood. I don't see how he manages at his age but he's worked like that his whole life.

I think your right I'm sitting with my logger buddy now he said get a 562 or a 365. And even issued me a challenge if I buy a 555.
