I have ran neither of these, but They are finally on the shelf, here.

Just comparing the fit & finish, and incredible weight of this 462 … idk, that Stihl seems solid. The 572 is kinda spongy & what do you do with that muffler?

I'm sure this has been beat to death, but any insight to their opinions, I'd appreciate, less I'm sadly mistaken!
Since they've been circulating overtime now. I dig this 462 w/o even running the damn thing.

In a world of over cost, technology, taking things back, broken upon delivery! Lord help us. 462.jpg

Mine is stock and drop by and run it. Brett has one, probably still in box or sitting in the kitchen.
Yah, I'm not certain yet if I'll be detouring through Lowell or Roscommon or heading straight up to the GTG. Sounds like there will be some logs to help move. Thanks for the offer.

Me personally, am tired of chasing the latest and greatest. These $1000 to $1200 dollar saws can't do anything a 2166 or 7900 can't and you can buy one for half the cost. Now if you just want the newest fine but I will stick with low tech for awhile.
Light weight bars, I will invest in them.

I can't comment on the 572 but so far my 462 has been fine. Only running a 20" bar and it zips thru big oak just fine. It does clog a bit when noodling. I like the weight for a 70 cc saw.

Sounds like you already made your mind up. If you want light buy a 462, if you want torque buy a 572.

I own both, 441, 461, 880 … 372xp, 390xp, 394&5xp "Always preferred Husqvarna, both great dealer support, feels right" but someone had mentioned Husqvarna was loosing their edge since their new lineup? … perhaps Stihl has just the same?

always appreciated!

My 462 was just a tad over your high end. But I'm lucky to have the only good Stihl dealer in the country from what I have read here on AS.

Wow I was looking at the site and it’s listed about 13k down here

Edit: I think that’s my TTL price on a wrap handle

I've only ran about 3 tanks of fuel through my 572 and maybe a tank through a 462.

The 462 does have an edge in fit and finish over the Husqvarna, Stihl normally does. The 462 is very light and nimble, the Mtronic behavior was very good. Balance is better than expected for it's light weight. Great throttle response, simple design.

The 572 is definitely a more robust design, but more complex. Besides the older Husqvarna saws, and the 395, I believe it may very well be more durable than the 462. Smooth AV yet more solid feeling than the 462, and better balance with long bars. Not sure about the torque comments, as more torque should provide faster cut times with longer bars, so far I haven't seen that in any comparison I trust, the 462 always comes out ahead. The AT systems behavior is spot on.

For most the it will come down to how much weight and cost matters to you, and if you're going to run a 32" bar on a 70cc saw. And as always dealer support will matter more with these electronic saws.

I would really like to know how these saws are holding up to real use and abuse? Seems most loggers and what not are still running older models.

Agree with you, great dealer support is a plus. Opposite here,Husky dealer is full service and we'll stocked. Plus I know them and they know me by first names.
Yep. When I walk in any 1 of 5 or 6 guys say hi Steve. Mine left me take home a repair manual to use. Try that at any other dealer.

I’ve had pretty good support from the 2 closest dealers here as well. Both take care of my kids pretty well. They’ve walked out with Stihl plush beaver toys and the Stihl trimmers and other stuff just handed too them. That’s bigger to me than most else they do. No discounts on saws but got 10% off on parts occasionally. And needed some screws one time and they brought me out to the shop and just started pulling them out of old pets saws. Good folks around here.
