If you get a chance and can find one, check out the MS-241 C-M. It's one of the best saws I've ever owned. If I didn't own a 261, I'd be happy as Hell with the 241.

ya 261 c-m over the 271 all day every day.
to those who own a 241, would you buy one if you already had a 261 c-m? I see a clean/cherry 241 close by to me that is available for a fair price, but as I have a 16"bar on my 261, am not thinking I would use a 241 much. Any thoughts on this?
MountainHigh, even-though I very much like my 241, I think the 261 & 241 are too close. That said, if the price is right on the 241 you could give it a go then keep whatever one works best in your inventory.
For me, my 241 and 461 compliment one another very well for a two saw plan.
Out of the three saws I have .. if I could only keep two the (241 & 461) would be the two I'd keep.
Thanks for the feedback ...
I probably don't need it as I've got a (EA4300/421) as well as an OE 346xp and now the 261 c-m for small saws. But I kind of want one anyway - lol
All I really need is a strong 16" saw and my 20" 562xp. Have considered buying a 462 c-m to replace my 562 but it's a goofy price and I'm not working the woods commercially. I'll probably do the practical thing and let the 241 go to another home - or maybe not
I think it's a fair price for a low use saw but not a giveaway.Or if it’s a great price...but it to try it then sell it on here...if you don’t like it
I think it's a fair price for a low use saw but not a giveaway. $300 US / $400 Cdn
