Yes, for the most part. This is going into our wholesale pile so we are a bit less picky with that. I also got a 6way wedge for it that we may run only 8-14" wood through so we get a more consistent size for direct to consumer sales.

I will say that I only had to re split a few pieces, if this was going through the dyna with 6way, I'd be re splitting everything a second time. That was our biggest time consuming aspect.

I'll get some better video of it soon and running multiple pieces.

I think that butt to the wedge will help with the splitter trash and causing less knarly looking splits. You want the split to be going smaller as it goes thru the wedge. My homebuilt splitter with 4 way will almost stall out because it's trying to compress the wood between the wing and the table if I split from small to big end. That stuff of yours looked pretty stringy too.

Rough vid. Looks to me like a perfect machine, if you are into producing bark mulch. Hope it works out for your operation. I could never make a dime fighting with that machine. Your conveyer looks like a cord king build. No processer??

i don't think some of you guys are getting the point of the video.

the box wedge splits 6 pieces in a more consistent pattern on large blocks than using a standard 6 way. no resplitting. the trade off is that it's much harder than a standard 6 way wedge. i purposely picked some bad wood to see what it will push through, btw that's also running on full auto cycle, no hands. btw this splitter is rated at 24tons. show me anything else on the market at that rating that can do 6way.

Show us some video of more ideal wood going through it

i was planning on to. I'll set up a camera so you can see the whole operation of the unit not just up close. we've had some crappy weather so haven't been able to cut as much rounds as we'd like

I like the operation of the machine and good to know the height is adjustable. Good video for semi-real life splits, most demonstrations have perfect wood. I want one...! Keep the videos coming.

Looks like the splits were pretty consistent even with that stringy wood. I get plenty of trash with my SS when I am splitting nasty wood so you probably get a tich more but it is negligible. Auto cycle is nice! Look forward to more videos.

I've seen lots of videos of Andrew's box wedge and it does work well. Gives consistent sized splits with no big pieces. But the drawback of any box wedge is the splitter trash and that's why if you want clean wood guys put a tumbler on them or like me hand load the splits. No one machine is perfect for every type and size of wood. I have at least 6 or 8 splitters but only use 2 of them and my processors. I put big wood ( over 15" dia) on my 36" stroke 4 way 24" tall adjustable wedge splitter for my boiler wood. Any logs/ branches under 6" get cut to 48" long for boiler wood. Any logs under 15" dia get run thru my Wallenstein processor with 6 way wedge and sold for firewood as 15 1/2" long splits. Last picture is 32" long logs for my boiler.
Ptsiteworx has splitters and a processor so I'm sure he's doing the same thing, running the correct size thru the correct machine. The box wedge will be used for the wood it's suited for.

Not seeing it. That log in post 1 aint that bad. Powersplit would have made short work of it. He has to reposition the wood or remove debris on virtually every split. Splitter just barely has enough sack to run the box with that wood. Combine that with the amount of trash it makes, you are just wasting wood, time and fuel. We used to run a 12-way fix box wedge on a processor that could push 50 tons. For every 5 cords produced, we got 1 cord of useless waste. You got the wood and the time, perhaps you can make it profitable. I wish him the best.
