Lube clutch bearing?

I think my doctor had the answer as he handed me a tissue, "you can never have too much lube".

The only simple question around here is which premix oil is best to use (and what ratio).

I use roller tip bar grease on the clutch bearing. I don't grease the roller tip. I use ample bar oil and clean out the bar groove on a regular basis.
That little spring loaded grease gun is a great place to keep a little dollip of "bearing" grease. Just a dab.
I've noticed a scant residue buildup on the inside of the clutch drum and wonder if it's a natural accumulation of lube and sawdust or if I've over greased.
I've considered using just a dab of 2t(I think too thin), marvel mystery oil or Bar oil instead of grease.

The clutch bearing sees very little use. It turns only when the saw idles. And then it's under no real load.

If I have the clutch off for some reason (once in a blue moon), I'll grease the bearing on reassembly. Just for giggles.

I've never seen a clutch bearing fail, and I run saws a good deal.

Do you use Synthetic or Conventional Clutch Bearing Grease???

Put me in the not bothering to grease it camp. I aint spending 2 hours at the end of each day cleaning, greasing, wiping down etc... the 5 saws we use on a daily basis. A chainsaw is a tool, not a show queen or status symbol. If you figure 2 hours each day for 5 years, (average life of a saw before its in need of replacing for me) that's a WHOLE lot of time so screw that! 8 hours a week, 40 weeks a year, x 5 years, that's over 1500 hours spent babying my saws. I will buy another saw! I do all my own repairs so when something goes down I fix it but Im not wasting time doing piddling stuff.
