Let me think this through... Got my first "proper" full time job in '99 and decided to buy myself a Stihl 038 to go along with the "family" 038AV that my father and uncle have shared since the very early 1980s. E bay provided me with an allegedly broken 038 Super with metal handle. Got it home, stuck a new 20" bar and chain on it and the compression caught me out the first time I tried to start it! (Previous owner hadn't been able to overcome the compression to start it!) I still have that saw and it is generally the one we lift first when there is cutting to be done. Fast forward to the winter of 2017/2018 and I decided to get a wee saw, primarily for my father to use and started looking for an 024. Winter boredom coincided with the search for an 024 and alongside the 024 I managed to get-a-hold of an 038 Super "project" that had tried to spit out its conrod bearing... plus some extra parts. I rebuilt that 038 to Magnum spec and have to say that was a really nice saw with a 25" bar. Loaned it out last summer and when I next ran it in some decent wood, noticed that a muffler bolt had backed out somewhere along the way. Pulled the muffler and discovered it had ingested something …. put it back together with a used Stihl pot and new "AIP" 50mm piston. From the other parts gathered up, I also put together a nice tidy 038 Super that I gasket matched (wouldn't say it is ported) and stuck a dual port muffler on it. Have another couple of 038 AVS Farmboss sitting to go through/use as parts donors. I also have an 064 and MS650 sitting to rebuild (parts in hand). The 650 is going to get an early non-decomp 066 KS cylinder and I'm stuck between using a Hyway pop-up piston or Meteor piston in it.
Along the way I spotted a nice Homelite XL12 with its original 20" hardnose Homelite bar and picked it up for very little £ as a non-runner. A few days after that, I was dropping off a few items at a local auction and saw a Jonsereds 80 with a banjaxed HT wire. Left a cheeky "you suck" bid for it and had to go back and collect "my" 80 a couple of days later. New fuel line, fuel filter and HT wire and it was running and cutting. The 80 was shortly joined by another 80 and a Jonsereds XG that I spotted in a mixed lot illustrated with poor photos on E bay. I messaged the seller and we did a "you suck" deal on the 80 and XG. Spotted another mis described XG (no air filter cover) on Ebay and bought it for £5.00 plus £11.00 carriage. Both 80s are running and cutting, one with 3/8 chain, the other is about to get a .404 rim sprocket. I added to the Jonsered flock with the accumulation of two 621s, two 52Es, and two 70Es. Have now got one of the 621s, a 52E and one of the 70Es running with little more than a basic service. The other 70E needs a new piston which I have in-hand.
Picked up two Homelite Super XLs locally for little money and plan to make one runner out of the two and I'll chop one of the handles to make a full wrap.
When looking for YouTube advice on saw builds, I found my way to Afleetcommand's videos and from him found my way to various other collectors and saw tinkerers including Mastermind, Bucking Billy Ray Smith, Logger Wade, Cotontop, Bayou Country Powersaws, August Hunicky, Human, IronHorse etc. That prompted a purchase of a few Macs over the past couple of years.... 3x 2-10 Automatic (two with SDC carbs and one with the Mac flatback carb. Needed something to contrast with the Macs so bought Danarm 55 mk II in both left and right hand start (blue/silver colour scheme) and a Danarm Frontier 55RE (black and orange) right hand start. Paid reasonable money for a really tidy Pro Mac 10-10 with chain brake and found a dirt cheap 7-10 that had been on a shelf for 20+ years. Once I got fresh fuel through the carb she ran like a train! Also picked up a "yousuck" SP55 that is running and cutting after getting a basic service + partial carb kit. I have a disassembled Pro Mac 800 sitting in a box to work on but I need to ID and source some missing hardware for it. Have I missed anything... hmm. There is a wee top handle Mac that I was forced to take with one of the other Macs but I think it'll go to the local auction one of these days!
Looks like I have managed to go from one to thirty 2 saws since the Winter of 2017/18! Most have been bought as and are "non-runners" but I'm working my way through them in order of interest.
PS. If you hadn't noticed, I seem to have a chainsaw collection! ;)

All right @chipper1 fess up buddy, how many?:chainsaw: Might need a note pad, pencil, calculator, and flash light huh, lol
Is there an app for that, there's a reason I don't keep track, because I can't lol.
The kids count them every now and then, but there's always some in boxes, in the suburban, up stairs buy the front door, in the ups truck...
Here's a few that went across the table last yr, there are others that have never had their picture taken.
The only double is the one I'm holding.
