I vowed and declared- NEVER would I own one! :surprised3:
Probably only one rung higher than the WOOD BOSS on the least desired saw ladder.

Then, somebody dropped this off and said- my son's father inlaw gave him this- I took it off of him because it has no chain brake, I got him a newer safer saw. I know you like tinkering with old saws, so you can have this one.

“Took it off my son and gave it to you bob as it’s dangerous (wouldn’t want anyone I care about getting hurt - here is a free saw Bob!)

wasn’t from an Aussi tired of your BS by any chance there bob?

Ah, he is learning, but still has to get the subtleties right, but a good start none the less :)

Hahah Bobs the master windup merchant, he’s had practise! Being an overly polite typical English guy, cheekiness isn’t my forte, but give me some time with him and I’m sure it will flow more naturally bahah

I have a few running stihls I picked up lately, I swore I’d never own a Stihl coming from a Husqvarna owner since 1970. But there not too bad of a saw. Something different to play with.

My 041 farm boss,

Na, I would never accept anything from an Aussie- free or not- would never know where it had been!
See you can tell you are an imposter- an Aussie could at least spell Aussie!

He is just a fellow Kiwi of an age that grew up with these terribly unsafe saws and still has all of his limbs, gifting a saw to another of the same vintage, because although the gifter is a mechanic by trade and does own a couple of bigger more modern Stihls, has no real interest in collecting them or restoring older models, but does have an interest in keeping his heirs intact- his son is of an age that grew up spending more hours watching a 4-6" screen on a device that ruins their posture and gifts them RSI in their thumbs! That generation rely more on the Occupational Health & Safety legislation to keep them safe, rather than common sense and practical training smattered with a bit of experience.
