Best type, just like that unique rust colour finish thats so hard to obtain in rattle cans.

Didn't stop the old girl firing up and running like a trooper though- mind you, she hardly got warmed up before I shut it back down- to play on the safe side.
Always weary of these old dear with the metal kill switch- would not be the first time I had been bitten by the electrical circuit off of one of these!

I have a few running stihls I picked up lately, I swore I’d never own a Stihl coming from a Husqvarna owner since 1970. But there not too bad of a saw. Something different to play with. But I need to keep all the saws separated so no cross breeding happens. I need to watch my italian bender Castor he’s a gigalo. Lol

Oh I own a few Stihls already, personally just the one bigger model in the 460, but have three Stihl top handles in the mix.
All my work saws are Stihl though.
I am certainly no brand snob, horses for courses. Would have a lot more Jonsereds if they were still available in the country- but sadly, no more and I let the ones I used to run go..... too cheaply.
Will jump on any 2094 I ever come across again- that was my money maker back in the day.

I will be honest, when I said I would never own a Farm Boss- I was aiming at the more modern MS versions.
And for complete disclosure, I am not a real fan of any saw of the vintage of this 041, regardless of maker name on the outside of it, but it was a gift, so I will go through it- fix anything that needs fixing, clean her up a bit and use it now and again for kicks, but it certainly would not be any sort of goto first choice...... for me.

Yeah, hmm, I feel tingling..............ZAP ! Oh.....&%$*(#&^@ I cant feel a thing now. :)
If they have made it this far in life, I rekon, regardless of make, they deserve some care and attention, nothing like the sound of old iron.

Edited to add, and use some cycling gel gloves or your retina detaches in 2 tanks of use.

To be honest- I don't see it ever being run for two continuous tanks for the rest of its lifetime!

Well if Tom comes to visit I rekon even he would have had enough by the end of the 2nd tank.

Then hand him a Husqvarna with AV? Might twist him out of Stihl vanity!
If he comes to visit I will be sure to have one of those plastic kids toys Stihls on his bedside cabinet for him.

He would get confused if he was working on 2 different makes.

I imagine a franken build, what part does this belong to ? posts :)

Argh, ok yeah, damn computers, ive run some huskys and they were impressively smooth, but found them more peaky, less torque than what I was used to running, tho still nice saws.

:ices_rofl::ices_rofl::laugh::laugh:

Sir, I like the way you think!

If in ever he did come for a visit, I would just give him a Stihl a day to clean.... be like owning a weeks worth of new saws by the time he leaves! ;)

and all your chair and table legs would have been turned into a a draw full of spoons too. :)

Should we call him Tom the Termite, or his new youtube channel, Chainsaws with Tom.

Either way, for a pom he is a top bloke.

Not sure if you could lure him over the pond your way, I offered him a weeks worth of cutting some bigger timber to set me up for firewood for a few years, and he still hasnt driven across the "nulla bore" yet to do so. :) And I could do with some saws being cleaned at the same time too. :)

......"- his son is of an age that grew up spending more hours watching a 4-6" screen on a device that ruins their posture and gifts them RSI in their thumbs! That generation rely more on the Occupational Health & Safety legislation to keep them safe, rather than common sense and practical training smattered with a bit of experience.

...................when you get to thinking that common sense is so rare today that it ought to be considered a super power.
