346XP NE vs OE

About 5ccs. The OE is said to have a little snappier throttle response. I think it might say it's good for another 500 rpm at top speed than the NE, and I think it's a few ounces lighter also. The NE has a little more grunt. Both great saws. The OE might be a little better for a dedicated limbing saw.
 
I'll admit I've really only started messing with these seriously in the last year, but this is what I've seen:

42mm "OE". I've had three of these on my bench.

I call this the NE "flag style". I've had two of these, they were both 44.3mm

The NE "diamond style" decal. 44.3mm with a primer. I built one of these and just got another to do.

The OE jugs have a blue "42" stamp on top. I can't recall ever seeing a stamp on a 44.3 NE. The base of the cylinders is the real tell though, or of course you can measure the bore. If the code cast into the base starts with 42 it's an OE, 44 for NE. YMMV
