I have a couple of Husqvarna's i mainly use for cutting, the 365 is my pick. I picked up a little Stihl 024 Super i need to put a carby kit through which I'm looking forward to using. I try to take one old saw with me when i go out, just for the fun of it. I also have a few other old saws in the rotation...
Not sure why all my old saws come to me in the same condition? I don't mind though, i love finding them. I don't really go looking too much, I seem to find that these things have a way of finding me! Much to my partners delight!!! Haha

Haha I take 1 modern saw sometimes when I cut lol. It's for sale too so once that's gone my modern saw will be a poulan 4000 from 84:)

You got some real gems in there man

Man I would love to find an old cache of Macs like that. The grime just makes it even better.

The grime makes them more fun to strip and clean it's strange getting a clean Mac it's kinda like someone ate your lunch

Definitely absolutely are cheaper for sure.

I've got a 3400 too nice solid saws they are. Mr wheeling a few posts back scored a nice 5200 for real cheap the bugger haha. He's doing it justice too.

Have you seen the new AM 4000 p/c coming out soon?

Good stuff the old mag saws and generally get alot of saw for ya buck too

I used the paint black wrinkle finish for valve covers on my 55, like an old mopar. Its gas and oil resistant.
I'm yet to paint one of my old saws, i like my old stuff left as is. I enjoy getting them running & plan to use them so i just clean & fix issues. Might change one day though???

I need to find a good sealant for the 10 series fuel tank. I've seen the viton one's online but with shipping & import fees to Austrailia, they're worth more than I've paid for my saws...

I don't have a drill or cut off saw in the 10 Series, I do have a couple of drills based on the 33/35 saws and 300, 600, and 795 based cut off saws as well as attachments to make a 250 a cut off saw.

I've seen pictures of 2 styles of Australian made Mac branded drill attachments. Belt & chain drive. This is the first one I've seen in person though.

She’s The Green Cajun Queen. The first from which many will come. Little green drones lol!

Is it something you chase or just turn up?

I'll probably get shot for this on a mac thread... but this is my 3400View attachment 799856

That's a lovely tidy 3400 very nice. I don't care don't think anyone else does we all have them too lol. I sneak the odd Mac on the green thread too

Finally got back to some of the 7-10 I'm working on. Got the piston cleaned up pretty well, new rings are here, new seals are on... Wrapped a scotchbrite around an old Mothers mini-powerball with some WD-40 as a "hone", worked great! Still got one good scrape at the exhaust port though. I was hoping that was more transfer or scuffing than anything and I could clean it up with some 220, but not so much. So we'll see how it goes after it's all back together. Worth a shot right? Obviously some more cleaning up to do in general before reassembly.

One question - I've seen a post about the "dimple" stamped on rings, but I can't remember what I read about it, and can't find that post. Does it matter if that dimple is up or down?
