The Red Lombard that I think is an L80 or L90 is in pretty good shape and looks to be worth fixing. If it is an L, that means it has the 95CC Power Products AH58 engine. They are good engines aren't they?
 
I brought the two Lombards home. On the top of the case is a decal, that says Series L. Then the part of the decal that would say 80 or 90 is torn off. Acres lists them as both being 95CC's with power Products Ah58 engines. Is there anyway to tell if it's an 80 or 90? Is it just a model year thing. Anyway, it looks complete except for the recoil. If anyone has one, I could use it.
 
A new member is looking for a bar for an Alpina A90. Acres list a Super 90 but does not list a bar for it. He does list an A70 and it takes a d196, 9.5 mm mount. The member says the bar has a 10mm groove. Anyone know what bar this saw takes or one that can be modded to work? Better yet, anyone have one?
 
i will have to go to the shop to look up my older Oregon catalogs, but here is the listing in the Windsor catalog. The Windsor UXL mount is the same as the Oregon D196 or better known as a Homelite mount. A lot of those 3/8's /9.5mm bars actually measure close to 10mm if not 10mm so thats what he's probable measuring.

Mark, he found these numbers on the bar, it's .404. He said it's an A90, but Acres doesn't show an A90, he does show a Super Pro 90 and it's 404 but doesn't list a bar pattern. 25082-404 and 2163 1416 UJ

We always thougt that is was a PROF 90 and that one is listed in the catalog above. But the original purchase receipt says A90

I got some old books I can try to find those numbers in later. Those sound like old Oregon numbers. Look at what I posted earlier under the .404 bar listings to see that they don't list those bars in .404. Then look and see the same saws in the .404 listings meaning that the .404 bars would have been the same Homelite D196 mount.

I don't know for sure but have a feeling they may not make that D196 mount in .063 .404 anymore. My suggestion would be to just get a large mount Husqvarna D009 bar and file the 9mm slot out to fit the bar studs and maybe have to open the adjuster holes up to fit. The D009 mount is the same size tail and the oiler hole will fit right up too.

Here’s one I just finished up. Super clean super ez. Had a broken clutch. I picked it up with a bunch of others from an old shop out west. According to the repair tag it was owned by a doctor, and had a broke clutch and idle problem. I don’t think he used it much at all, really cleaned up nice. I replaced the clutch, reassembled it drained the skunked fuel and put in fresh. Fired on 10th pull runs real strong certainly need that decomp valve. I like the Super EZ's, and use the decomp, just because it's right next to your finger. But, I wish some one could tell me why Homelite put a decomp on the 40CC EZ, and not the 100CC Super 1050?

Because the Super EZ put out tons of compression and they really needed them. 180-190 lbs that I have seen. The 1050's don't put out like that, but the one that floored me was the Super XL925 that did put out 190lb's. They have a much bigger bore and absolutely should have had a decomp. They tear up starter parts a lot.

I’d have to look but I think the XL 923 I just picked up has a decomp. Similar saws the 925 having higher compression doesn’t make sense why they left the decomp off the 925
 
I have a 924 and 925, don’t think either has one. I gave SVK a 900 series saw, don’t know if he ever figured out exactly which model it was? Don’t think it had one either.

I never had trouble starting the 1050’s when I was young and worked with them everyday, now I have to be in the mood.

I know the 925's never had one, I had 4 of them at one time some time ago. Got rid of them all. Good saws with great power, but no decomp, gas boiling in the tanks and a couple other little things convinced me to send them away.

I still have 2 SEZAO, one I restored for my dad, and one nice runner. Truthfully I would let the runner go to a good home as it just sets here anymore.

Nice haul Joe, I see a couple that I like. The 49SP are pretty good runners and are little tanks, and the 034 (or 034 Super) is probably my favorite Stihl if I had to pick one.

Have not seen you around much, hows the little one doing? Probably keeping you busy..

Hey Mark, good to hear from you. Couple reasons I was away. I moved out of the city a few years ago, sold off a bunch of saws. Then I was busy doing a lot of work the the house we bought in a town 1/10 the size of where we were which has been the best decision we made. Small town life has suited the whole family well. Also helped my mom and dad move from where they’d been since 79, did some land clearing out there with dad have more to do. Bought a ‘79 c30 Chevy as a parts truck for my ‘84 and that ate up saw time too.
Started on the saws a year or 2 ago popped in here but I didn’t see you or Gregg or mike or any of the guys on the Poulan thread from years ago. Long story long I have slowly been building my shop, changed it twice already got it to a point I like now. I’m going to be posting some more cool stuff I’ll get some more pictures of the saws in that picture soon. Wife has me doing a chair rail and molding boxes in the hall way this weekend maybe I can sneak off.
The 034 is a great saw. I had a real nice one, gave it to my cousin to replace his 290. The 49s are tough, I’ll have to find a cover for it. This guy Steve gets nice stuff, good prices and the old USA stuff he all but gives away
