Billy, if you have the stable of saws you keep telling us about and you are going to buy new sprocket drives, clutch bells, bars and chains for these saws- why not standardise the situation?
Instead of putting .325 0.063 on the 024 just because that is what the owners manual says- why not put it on .325 0.058 like your 350's are running?
One roll of 25'or 100' chain and a few joiner links and you can make a chain for any of them. Your right. I change the sprockets to rim and drum and add new bars anyway.

Thanks great idea. I just did that with my 250’ of 404” . 063” chain. Now I need to do that with my 3/8” .058” and my 325” .058” chains next.

Its weird how they mark pro saws from others.
For instance the 360 is a pro saw but the 390 is not. Same with 260 and 250. Yet 240 is.

Well, it may be weird...but, they do have a system. Even third digit in 0 series saws is pro; even second digit in MS saws is pro.

024, 026, 036, 044.... all even third digit, all pro.
MS240, MS260, MS360, MS441...all even 2nd digit, all pro.

The original numbering was based on horsepower rating by Stihl: 024, 2.4hp...036, 3.6hp. Carried over to MS series so MS240, still 2.4hp rated by Stihl. Then MS model revisions jumped the last digit: MS241...MS361...MS362
