Joe, I have a red and black 3.7 like yours and a 4000. Running them back to back the 4000 just seemed to have more power and torque. Maybe not a lot but it was noticeable. Those 2 saws along with a PP375 and a 3800 with 3700 top end get a lot of use around my place.

Thanks for the tips, unfortunately I didn’t have any of them tools. Since I had the crank out of the saw, I used a socket under the piston on flat side, and some screws and a press and pressed the pin in and out. It worked, but I need to be on the lookout for the proper tool.

The thin ring saws like the 3700 and 4000 or 375 and 395 always had more compression than the thick ring saws like the 3400 and 3800.

I’ve got a couple more questions on my poulan 3700 build.
What is the best material to use to make an oiler diaphragm for a poulan 3700.
When I try to install the seals, it always bends up the outer edge of seal. It’s in a different spot each time. I tried with 3 seals. Any tips on preventing this. I’ve never had this much trouble installing seals in a saw.

take a small knife and chamfer the hole and they will go in.
If anyone here is bidding on the Poulan Pro 375 on the 'bay make sure you read the full description. It says "Poulan Pro 375 Farm Pro/ Nice running chainsaw" but in the description it says "seized estate find as is." I messaged the seller and he confirmed it's seized so buyer beware.

Now with that done I do have one question for everybody. I was doing some searching through Poulan parts diagrams and found the dimension on the correct screws needed for the exhaust but I guess my question is what is the actual correct style screw. From what I've found it's a 10-32x1/2 screw. But what kind of head should it have?? Was just gonna go to the hardware store and pick them up. Will include what I'm working with right now. The actual screw that is in the one hole has to big of a head and so will not seat properly as you will see in the picture. Is it like the one pictured on the right?? Trying to keep it original if that makes sense instead of just making it work. Have a 28" Oregon bar and full chisel chain coming for it. Only been waiting 3 weeks for it but that's USPS for ya. Ready to play!! Thanks guys!!!

530001644’s head is flanged, 5/16” hex w/ a screwdriver slot. Common Poulan type fastener back in the 70 & 80s... but are now NLA

Took the 5200 out to earn its keep today. Needed a bolster as of the lack of side boards, so I free hand milled that big piece of oak on the trailer with the 5200.Finished all my big cuts with it and it just shut it self off? Haha I think the original switch is starting to go. Oh well she fired back up after getting home.
Might be right, been a while since I had my 4000s or PP395s. The 3.7 is the last of my countervibes. Aside from my 3.7 I use my 3450 (type III) a lot. That’s my favorite series.
I've got a PP365 and a 3500 but hardly ever use them. If I could find a couple of 18" 3/8 pitch bars they would get used a lot more. Just don't really care for .325 chain.
My 365, 330, 3450 and 3750 all came with .375”. My 305s, 335s and their green counter parts were all .325”. I don’t care for it either. If I’m in the small stuff I like 3/8”lp when I need a less grabby chain.

Both those saws came with 3/8. Switch them over. Both being 60cc will pull it with NP.
I would swap them if I could find 18" bars

There should be plenty available. I'd send you some but have already disposed of every 18" bar that I've ever owned. Don't even allow them on my place. It's either 16's or 20's here.

Same way here. 16 or 20 preferred.
But keep ending up with OEM K041 18" 3/8 with replaceable sprocket tips on saws that I get. So they get hung up to go on saws I sell local if it was needed.
Well, I've got bars to trade if anyone wants to trade.
