I cannot tell you how angry I am in that I cannot find the oil adjust for the f#### saw. I have looked in the manual, and the pic appears to be under the sprocket, but of course, I cannot find it. Anyone help?

I don't see what possible problem you could be having. Turn the saw completely upside down. You'll see a "+" and a "-" symbol, indicating which way to turn the screw to adjust oil flow. The screw is accessible directly from the underside of the saw.

Were you drinking when you were looking for it? That would explain the temper tantrum.

394

No, no drinking, just perpetual frustration. I like my 394 but it NEVER gives me carefree service. I always have issues. Now, a new bar and chain, and last week it cut nice. Today, 3 cuts and I see steam coming from the bar. Figure its not lubing...using cold temp oil. The level was down, but what can I say? bars aren't suppoze to get that hot that fast esp in 30 degree weather.

Take it all apart, check and clean everything, start it and let it idle, and no sling off the tip....figure it must need to be adjusted...

C A N N O T see the diagram like the book shows-a small plate with a slot under it. I am pretty sure I did this once in the past, but cannot find it now...

Send me a pic dude.

Like he said, it's just an adjustment screw pointing straight down. Just turn the saw all the way upsidedown and there it is.

You can see it better from the side under the clutch.Hopes this helps.Mark

Post a pic of the underside of your saw, we will circle the adjuster for ya. Unless you have a few years of crud caked on the bottom it should be very easy to see.....

I found the dumb adjuster. Caked with gunk. Now I won't forget again. The book does NOT show that pic or even a sketch close. It shows a plate that you put the screw under.

Anyway...

Opened it all the way out. Saw ran like a raped ape. Cut up 2 20' red oaks 24" in dia...with a grin on my face.

I did notice that there wasn't any oil sling from the tip after letting it idle a bit. But the oiler is working fine, as I watched it pump with the bar off at low idle.

And yes, I have been cutting for 15 years, but only got the Husky 2 yrs ago, and only adjusted the oil once, just forgot where it was.

Thanks fellas

That's great, but after literally, 15 minutes of not finding it, and looking and looking, I'd had enough. I knew it was there, and figured it HAD to be near where it was, but it was gunked up and covered, etc.

Yea, That's a bad spot for it as well as the adjuster but those are the only faults i see in that saw.I still don't know why husky hasn't put a side adjuster on there 395& 395 saws. After all ,they are suppost to be milling saws. They are very hard to adjust when in the mill.:dizzy:
