I have my eye on a Jonsered 2071 that was owned by an elderly man that can not lift it anymore. It was only used to feel a few trees a year then he used smaller saws to cut the firewood. It looks nearly new, have been wanting a Husky 372 for some time and this seems like it may take care of that. The guy wants 225 which I feel is fair, What to you think and how close it this to the 372, If im not mistaking it is dang near the same saw. Thanks for any help.

I would feel bad about stealing a saw from and old man like that...

I would feel bad but that is his asking price. Jonsered's are not well known in my area and have a terrible resale. Now, I know I could get him down to 175 or 200 and even tho I am tighter than tree bark I can not do it to him. Thanks for the advice, Got to go, headed to the ATM

This was covered pretty recently; tread.

Sorry if it seemed like I asked the same question. At the time I did not know this 2071 was gona be on the market, At the time I was trying to educate my self on the HUSKEY's. Then the 2071 cam up and I wanted to know how close this saw was to a 372. Of course I got good sound advice on both post. I asked this specific question about model and Price because you never know If there may be a problem with a specific saw unless you ask.

2071

the 2071 is one of those saws that fly under the radar and most people don't know what a great saw it is.
your right the j-reds have a horrible resale value around here too, that 2071 is a"wolf in sheep's clothing",a red 372 with a different top handle....great find!!!!!
