I never had a chance to run the stock 288. I really didnt modify the cylinder much. Just rounded and smoothed out the bottom of the transfers ports and polished the exhaust. I did not alter any port heights. I also opened the stock muffler and deleted the base gasket.
Everyone says they run excellent stock, but this one is quite a beast and has the torque to run a much bigger bar. I think youd be more than happy with it if you did something similar...
