Thanks for the rep! Elm doesn't burn near as long as the hedge, but it is a nice burn and no thorns or milky sap to deal with.

      Hi Joe:
Will do. I thought of you last week. My neighbor has a farm on 534 just south of Hartsgrove. I had a pretty good sized pile of hardwood out near the road and wanted me to come and haul it for my own use. I figured it would be two trips with the dump and trailer and another to go back and pick up the skid steer so I turned him down. I told him I had guys who would probably want it for free but he started thinking $$$$$$ so I let it drop. Glad to hear from you. I burned A LOT of wood this winter. Tree work is a little slow but that's OK. I've got 30 lbs. of winter fat to work off.
      Don't get old,

Thanks for the rep. My camera is a Sony DSC-H1. It's close to being a DSLR w/o actually having to change lenses and stuff. They don't make that model anymore and its at least 6-7 years old now. I take all my video with it to

Thanks for the Rep! Good post on your blog about round logs vs split logs. I'm working pretty hard right now to get in next winter's wood. We almost have to split everything down here because round logs rot before they cure down here. But a compromise is to split in as big a billet as we can handle, to minimize the trips the splitter wedge has to make. If we just break the bark open, the wood drys faster and the bugs dont get it so bad.

Again, Enjoyed your blog and Thanks for the Rep.
