What you have is a fan switch - NOT a limit switch. A fan switch turns on ( the switch closes) as the temperature rises. In a limit switch, the switch turns off ( opens) when the temperature rises. Limit switches are designed to power down a furnace is something has gone wrong. A limit switch would run your fan only when the furnace was cold.

The label on yours " F120 - 10 " means that it's a fan switch (that's what the "F" is) that closes when the temperature rises to 120 (F) and opens when the temperature drops 10 degrees from that ( or, 110 F).

You can get a replacement at Grainger's for about $8.
