Husky bar on 3002 mount?

Ever wanted to use a Husqvarna bar on your big stihl? Now you can. I picked this saw up the other day and was really curious about the bar on it. Seems the previous owner got the bar to fit but wasn't really concerned about oiling the chain as the oil holes didn't line up. Not only that but he was runnnig a 3/8" chain on the .404 sprocket.
Now the funny thing is the sprocket is completey ruined from running but the bar is not smoked. Only thing I can figure is he kept a bucket of oil nearby like the old loggers to plunge the bar into now and again.

What's the problem? Looks like some of the finest engineering I've ever seen from a Stihl owner :D
Anything can be made to work when a grinder is involved.
 
Matt, that's refined Victorian redneck engineering. Reckon a croweater would have used his arc welder cranked up and blown a larger slot.:hmm3grin2orange:
