084 coil - is this normal?

the coil lead wire runs through a hole in the case, is this normal for these saws?

seems the only way I will get the coil out is if I remove the plug insulator?

No, that should not go through that hole.

so rotate the insulator counterclockwise to get it off?

The wire will screw out of the coil.
