Hi everyone

It's been a while, since a last posted, or visited the site.

Can some of you tell me if a 281/288 Carb will fit a 181 SE?

The linkages are different, the 181 uses a wire instead of the lever and roller of the 281/288.

According to the IPLs, the carb model didn't change before some months into 281 production (from HS-216c to HS-228a).

Don't know if this is a wire to you guys?

high speed needles are different between hs216 and hs228 carbs...so they are not a direct replacement. hs216c was governed (early ones not)...hs228a/b were governed...hs228c was not. the governor is designed to enrich the ratio @WOT in order to avoid damage from overspeed/lean mixtures.
